Die Zahl der psychischen Erkrankungen im Kindes- und Jugendalter nimmt zu. Vor allem die aktuelle Corona-Pandemie trägt dazu bei, dass die psychische Gesundheit der Kinder- und Jugendlichen teilweise gefährdet ist, durch die vorherrschenden Bedingungen. Die Prävention bei psychischen Erkrankungen im Kindes- und Jugendalter ist noch lange nicht ausreichend im Bewusstsein der Gesellschaft, obwohl Zahlen und Fakten alarmierend wirken sollten. Zusätzlich sind Behandlungen von psychischen Erkrankungen oft sehr kostspielig und zeitintensiv, wohingegen sich Präventionsprogramme oft ohne größeren und finanziellen Aufwand in alle Lebensbereiche von Kindern, Jugendlichen und ihren Familien installieren lassen.
