Dies spiegelt sich in Fehlzeitenstatistiken und Krankenstanden wieder. Aus diesem Problem ergeben sich Handlungsansatze, welche darauf ausgerichtet sind, der durch den demografischen Wandel immer alter werdenden Belegschaft Moglichkeiten zu bieten, den Arbeitsalltag bei voller korperlicher und geistiger Gesundheit zu bewaltigen. Unternehmen sollten gewillt sein den Belastungen entgegenzusteuern, um auch weiterhin wirtschaftlich arbeiten zu konnen. Die Gesundheit der Mitarbeiter sollte an oberster Stelle stehen, damit ihnen ein angenehmes und besseres Arbeitsumfeld ermoglicht wird. Nur so ist zu realisieren, dass die Mitarbeiter ihre Tatigkeit bei voller Gesundheit und hoher Motivation bis ins hohe Alter ausuben konnen."

Persönliche Gespräche mit Angehörigen, Ärzten, Therapeuten und anderen am Pflegeprozess beteiligten Personen ...all das sind zusätzliche Spannungsfelder im Alltag einer Pflegekraft. Die Belastungsfaktoren, denen Pflegekräfte ausgesetzt sind, sind vielfältig und vielschichtig, sind physischer und psychischer Natur, sind unterschiedlich stark ausgeprägt und zu unterschiedlichen Zeitpunkten präsent. Aber alle nehmen sie Einfluss auf den physischen und psychischen Gesundheitszustand der Betroffenen. So verwundert es nicht, dass im Pflegemarkt dringend nach Personal gesucht wird. Ältere Arbeitnehmer und Arbeitnehmerinnen scheiden immer früher aus dem Beruf aus, die Zahlen der Auszubildenden sind laut Berufsgenossenschaft für Gesundheitsdienst und Wohlfahrtspflege (BGW) rückläufig. Von einem Pflegenotstand ist bereits die Rede (BGW, 2006). Unter diesem Blickwinkel rückt die Primärprävention immer mehr in den Fokus. Mitarbeiter müssen befähigt werden, ihren Beruf länger auszuüben. Diese Arbeit untersucht einen Ansatz, die zuvor beschriebene Problematik zu beheben. Zunächst wird der Forschungsgegenstand näher betrachtet, um die physischen und psychischen Belastungen der Pflegekräfte herauszustellen, und dem Begriff der Prävention Profil zu verleihen. Zusätzlich werden Argumente herausgearbeitet, warum Primärprävention auch für Arbeitgeber von Interesse ist. Anschließend wird aus den aktuellen sportwissenschaftlichen Erkenntnissen und unter Berücksichtigung der physischen und psychischen Belastungen der Pflegekräfte ein theoretisches Gerüst als Grundlage eines Trainingskonzepts erarbeitet. Darauf basierend wurde das konzeptionelle Kurzprogramm zur Primärprävention für Pflegekräfte entwickelt, was über einen Zeitraum von sechs Wochen in einer ambulanten Pflegestation durchgeführt und evaluiert wurde. Die Ergebnisse, ihre Interpretation und ihre möglichen Auswirkungen und Zusammenhänge im bzw. auf das Berufsfeld Pflege werden am Ende dieser Arbeit dargestellt.
