Book Synopsis Systems Dependability Assessment by : Jean-Francois Aubry
Download or read book Systems Dependability Assessment written by Jean-Francois Aubry and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2016-02-11 with total page 282 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Petri Nets were defined for the study of discrete events systems and later extended for many purposes including dependability assessment. In our knowledge, no book deals specifically with the use of different type of PN to dependability. We propose in addition to bring a focus on the adequacy of Petri net types to the study of various problems related to dependability such as risk analysis and probabilistic assessment. In the first part, the basic models of PN and some useful extensions are briefly recalled. In the second part, the PN are used as a formal model to describe the evolution process of critical system in the frame of an ontological approach. The third part focuses on the stochastic Petri Nets (SPN) and their use in dependability assessment. Different formal models of SPN are formally presented (semantics, evolution rules…) and their equivalence with the corresponding class of Markov processes to get an analytical assessment of dependability. Simplification methods are proposed in order to reduce the size of analytical model and to make it more calculable. The introduction of some concepts specific to high level PN allows too the consideration of complex systems. Few applications in the field of the instrumentation and control (l&C) systems, safety integrated systems (SIS) emphasize the benefits of SPN for dependability assessment.

Book Synopsis Future of CO2 Capture, Transport and Storage Projects by : Jaleh Samadi
Download or read book Future of CO2 Capture, Transport and Storage Projects written by Jaleh Samadi and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-03-06 with total page 102 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents a summary of a three-year research project on risk management for the Capture, Transport and Storage of CO2 (CTSC), offering an in-depth study on complex sociotechnical systems and systemic modeling. Approaching CTSC as a complex sociotechnical system, this book proposes systemic modeling as a decision-making aid. It offers a means of decision-making for the development of CTSC projects in the real-world context, where the future of the technology is uncertain. Risk management is considered as a means of control that can provide a control structure for the whole system. The risks associated with CTSC are not exclusively technical in nature; CTSC also faces a number of further uncertainties, from development to commercial scales. A major question concerning CTSC at the current scale of development is: "What are the factors explaining the success or failure of CTSC projects in different contexts?" In order to answer this question, the book proposes a systemic risk management framework based on the system dynamics and STAMP (Systems-Theoretic Accident Model and Processes) concepts.
Book Synopsis Beyond Compliance by : M. Megan Quinlan
Download or read book Beyond Compliance written by M. Megan Quinlan and published by Chartridge Books Oxford. This book was released on 2016-04-24 with total page 275 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Agricultural trade is an engine for economic growth, yet many countries lack the competence and confidence to negotiate market access effectively. Access requires compliance with a set of phytosanitary measures imposed by the importing country. However, by following a structured process, negotiations can move beyond simple compliance to a more mutually beneficial solution. Beyond Compliance: A Production Chain Framework for Plant Health Risk Management in Trade provides a series of decision support tools that can be used to manage and demonstrate plant health risk management. The tools, developed within a production chain framework and Systems Approach, were developed using real trade cases in Southeast Asia. The project aimed to support national plant protection organisations and trade negotiators seeking to ensure safe trade with more risk-proportionate and suitable risk management plans. The Beyond Compliance project was funded by the Standards and Trade Development Facility, a global partnership established by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the World Bank, the World Health Organization, the World Organisation for Animal Health and the World Trade Organization.

This book was released on 2020-04-06 with total page 500 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book brings together papers presented at the 3rd Conference of Research in Economics and Management (CIREG) held in Morocco in May 2016. With a focus on the challenges of SMEs and innovative solutions, they highlight the contribution of researchers in the fields of business and management, with all their micro and macro-economic aspects. They shed light on the universal scientific vision of the importance of SMEs with answers relevant to their local context and adapted to their specific national situation. The relevance of SME research lies in its heuristic value of analyzing change, rather than in constructing a category, a particularly useful empirical concept. This first volume is focused on economic issues.

Book Synopsis The Event Safety Guide by : Event Safety Alliance
Download or read book The Event Safety Guide written by Event Safety Alliance and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2016-09-27 with total page 557 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: EBOOK ONLY FRENCH EDITION The Event Safety Guide is the United States’ first published safety guidance directed specifically at the live event industry. Culled from existing life safety standards and the insight of top professionals within the event industry, The Event Safety Guide compiles the best operational practices currently available in the live event industry in a single easily referenced manual. The guide is not a “how-to book” or a complicated set of standards. Rather, it is intended to help busy industry professionals know what safe workplace practices might be, heighten their understanding of the importance of safety in everything they do, and apply these best practices in their daily work. Designed for field use, The Event Safety Guide is categorically organized and written in straightforward and easily understood language. Thirty-nine chapters and five appendixes address a broad range of subjects relevant to most events, including emergency planning, weather preparedness, and fire safety, as well as specific technical issues such as pyrotechnics, rigging, and temporary staging. Included appendixes provide additional resources, including helpful planning checklists and information on the National Incident Management System (NIMS) Incident Command System (ICS). All referenced standards are thoroughly cited within the text to ensure readers know precisely where to turn for additional information. Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or just starting out in the event industry, you’ll find The Event Safety Guide to be an indispensable reference when planning your next event.
Book Synopsis Estimation des projets de l'entreprise numérique : Approche systémique, coûts, qualité et délais by : PRINTZ Jacques
Download or read book Estimation des projets de l'entreprise numérique : Approche systémique, coûts, qualité et délais written by PRINTZ Jacques and published by Lavoisier. This book was released on 2013-04-01 with total page 402 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
