Book Synopsis Unconventional Flying Objects by : Hill, Paul R.
Download or read book Unconventional Flying Objects written by Hill, Paul R. and published by Hampton Roads Publishing. This book was released on 2014-06-01 with total page 434 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Paul Hill was a well-respected NASA scientist when, in the early 1950s, he had a UFO sighting. Soon after, he built the first flying platform and was able to duplicate the UFO's tilt-to-control maneuvers. Official policy, however, prevented him from proclaiming his findings. "I was destined," says Hill, "to be as unidentified as the flying objects." For the next twenty-five years, Hill acted as an unofficial clearinghouse at NASA, collecting and analyzing sightings' reports for physical properties, propulsion possibilities, dynamics, etc. To refute claims that UFOs defy the laws of physics, he had to make "technological sense... of the unconventional object." After his retirement from NASA, Hill finally completed his remarkable analysis. This book, published posthumously, presents his findings that UFOs "obey, not defy, the laws of physics." Vindicating his own sighting and thousands of others, he proves that UFO technology is not only explainable, but attainable.

Book Synopsis King's African Rifles by : Malcolm Page
Download or read book King's African Rifles written by Malcolm Page and published by Pen and Sword. This book was released on 2011-03-30 with total page 354 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “This comprehensive and complete history charts the story of the East Africans from their formation in 1902 through to the drawdown of the British Empire.” —Soldier Whatever one may think about the rights and wrongs of colonial rule, it is hard to deny that during the first half of the 20th century those African countries, which then came under British administration, enjoyed a period of stability which most now look back upon with a profound sense of loss. Paradoxical though it may seem, one of the bulwarks of that stability was each country’s indigenous army. Trained and officered by the British, these forces became a source of both pride and cohesion in their own country, none more so than the King’s African Rifles, founded in 1902 and probably the best known of the East African forces. In this, the first complete history of the East African forces, Malcolm Page, who himself served in the Somaliland Scouts for a number of years, has had access to much new material while researching the history of each unit from its foundation to the time of independence. Historians in several fields will be grateful to him for having put on record this very important period in the annals of both Great Britain and East Africa while the memories of many who served there were still fresh, and they themselves will perhaps be most grateful of all for this lasting tribute to the men they served and who served them, for in that shared sense of duty lay the true spirit of East African Forces.

Download or read book More Than Courage written by Phil Nordyke and published by Zenith Press. This book was released on 2008-10-21 with total page 500 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Drawing on many oral and unpublished written accounts from veterans of the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, Phil Nordyke brings the history of the regiment to life, conveying with remarkable immediacy and power what it was like to be there. This is history as it was lived by the men of the 504th, from their pre-war coming of age in the regiment, through the end of World War II, when they marched in the Victory Parade down Fifth Avenue in New York. The 504th earned three bronze stars for their parachute wings, one for each of their combat jumps.
