This book was released on 2016-06-15 with total page 212 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis Latin America and the Shifting Sands of Globalization by : Sean W. Burges
Download or read book Latin America and the Shifting Sands of Globalization written by Sean W. Burges and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2016-01-22 with total page 146 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Latin America occupies an increasingly prominent position within the global political, economic and cultural consciousness, with intra-regional governance structures and multilateral processes now a key topic of interest to foreign policy and international business circles. It has become abundantly clear that outside of Latin America there is a poor understanding of how the shifting sands of regional power are impacting, not only on how regional countries fit into the global system, but also on how intra-regional relations are viewed and managed. The contributions to this collection investigate these issues, examining how changing global power dynamics are in turn impacting on national foreign policies and regional governance structures. The book focuses first and foremost on the Latin American view outwards, not the US or European view to the south. This book was originally published as a special issue of the Journal of Iberian and Latin American Research.

Book Synopsis Foreign Investment in Latin America and the Caribbean 2006 by : United Nations: Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean
Download or read book Foreign Investment in Latin America and the Caribbean 2006 written by United Nations: Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean and published by UNECLAC. This book was released on 2007 with total page 212 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the latest in a series of annual reports on recent trends and developments in relation to foreign direct investment (FDI) and investment strategies in Latin America and the Caribbean region. The main message of this year's report is that active and integrated FDI attraction policies linked to national development strategies are necessary to secure quality FDI. These lessons are drawn from policy practices in the more successful European and Asian countries which contrast with the more passive and disconnected FDI attraction policies evident in Latin America and the Caribbean. The 2006 report also contains chapters that analyse the experiences of two relatively small investor countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, the Republic of Korea and Portugal.
