Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Who are we? What are poems and stories? Can their messages touch us so deeply that we are transformed like The Ugly Duckling transforms into the magnificent swan it was all along? These are some of the questions that are at the heart of this book of poems, prose pieces and letters from two decades of Diana's writing life. It is a collection of work filled with imagery, insights, intimacy and emotion. From Pen (elope) with love takes us to the centre of the human heart and invites us to dance with our humanness, our vulnerabilities, our passions, our childlike wonder and delight, all the while, heading in the direction of our true home. This book will speak to anyone who is on the path of self-discovery and spiritual awakening. It is also for fellow writers and poets seeking nourishment, encouragement, and company on the journey.

Book excerpt: Cultural Association ""From Ischia The Art - DILA"" GAME OF LOVE IN SERMONETA by ANGELA MARIA TIBERI Vice President of the Association New Cenacle of Poetry of ApriliaPREFACE Entering in the world of the writer Angela Maria Tiberi and how to desecrate a tabernacle and lay bare her thoughts, her heart, her soul. Her world is inner made of dreamed and realistic relationships where passion and love intertwine to sciorination a great connection from she is lived and then lost in the street we do not know how and why. Her prose and her poems gather in a whirlwind of expressive desires that can never be reached for a great, timeless but unambiguous love. The poetics of Angela Maria Tiberi is not recommended to all those who have cold hearts escaped the sense of love. Failing to make it their own, they would think, foolishly, that these are utopian transpositions in verses of obsolete ideals, without realizing that the real ""old"" are only those who no longer know how to believe in love. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A very close and clear description of Dante's style in those lyric poems, which can be dated with reasonable confidence. Dr Boyde explains the nature and objective of his analyses in the substantial introduction which does not assume any previous knowledge of the poems or of modern stylistic theory. He has three principal aims: first, to relate the style of the poems to medieval rhetorical teaching; secondly, to assess the degree of Dante's stylistic originality by comparison with the style of earlier medieval authors; and thirdly, to provide an accurate detailed description of the many developments in Dante's style over a period of twenty years. Close attention is paid throughout to the frequency and distribution of the features described, and there is abundant quotation of examples. The book will have a considerable theoretical interest to all those concerned with the analysis of the style of literature from the past.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book excerpt: Desire for love, desire for knowledge, desire to possess, desire to desire and to be desired: our life is shaped by what we want and by our efforts to achieve it. Hailed by philosophers and psychoanalysts as the core of human identity, desire informs not only our actions, but also our dreams and hopes and their sublimation into art and literature. This collection of essays explores how desire is portrayed in modern and contemporary Italian literature, by analysing some of the most interesting literary figures of the last two centuries. The authors of this collection approach desire from various perspectives – psychoanalytical, sociological, political and semiotic – in order to show that desire, albeit at times not explicitly mentioned, pervades the literary works of modern and contemporary Italy, either as a central theme or as the secret motor of the narrative. Through the fil rouge of desire, the essays of this collection highlight the international dimension of Italian literature, establishing a connection between Italian authors and the major theoretical works of the last two centuries. As the notion of desire, as represented in literary texts, is informed by psychoanalytical and philosophical concepts that operate across the boundaries of nationality and language, modernists and scholars of Comparative Literature will find the papers in this book of considerable interest.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Gianfranco & Stefano
