Méthodologie : dans l'objectif de conduire une recherche en première personne portant sur les expériences de mort imminente, nous avons conduit une série d'entretiens de phénoménologie expérientielle chez des personnes ayant vécu une expérience de mort imminente. Nous avons ensuite pratiqué une herméneutique des verbatim, une herméneutique du phénomène de la rencontre avec le témoin et, enfin, une tentative de rapprochement avec la phénoménologie de Sein und Zeit chez Heidegger. Résultats : la méthode des entretiens de phénoménologie expérientielle a considérablement enrichi notre travail d'une dimension humaine, singulière, renforçant positivement les hypothèses de départ sur la complémentarité des écrits de M. Heidegger avec une herméneutique des récits de nos témoins. Conclusion : nous pensons que notre approche des expériences de mort imminente apporte un regard nouveau sur ce qui pourrait bien être un véritable fait anthropologique, et nos résultats encouragent le développement de futures études en première personne, suivant ou non la méthode phénoménologique.

" Does this mean then, that a properly phenomenological d- cription of death may reveal to us what death as a factical event is like "in the very way in which it shows itself from itself"? Although I cannot experience my death in order to describe it, may some kind of phenomenologica'l inference or "extrapolation"2 be the condition for a unique and privileged revelation of what it is like to be dead? There is an important element of phenomenological descr- tion which renders such an extrapolation implausible, and it involves what Husserl originally called the reduction to signi- cance or meaning. For Heidegger, authentic being-toward-death is not preoccupation with death as such, nor resoluteness in the face of one's demise, but preoccupation with the meaning of the beings—ourselves—who comport themselves understandingly toward death and who breathe an atmosphere of mortality. Authentic dying is then nothing other than the practice of philosophy. For Plato, philosophy is the practice of dying, the separating of the soul to its own autonomous existence. This separation, however, is not that of the soul from the body. Instead, it is separation from common understanding, hearsay, everydayness, and mediocrity. Accordingly, both Heidegger and Plato see an intimate connection between philosophy and death. Rather than a morbid focus on negativity and dissolution, however, this connection leads to a call to being authentic, thinking for oneself, and repudiating the superficiality of the crowd. For both Heidegger and Plato, philosophizing and dying are, most concretely, a matter of heeding the Delphic oracle: Know thyself. Rojcewicz pursues this theme of philosophy and death through the topics of signs, anxiety, conscience, music, and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Madness and death are linked to the question of how to conceptualize the unthinkable, but Güven illustrates how this conceptualization results in a reduction to positivity of the very radical negativity these moments represent. Tracing this problematic through Plato, Hegel, Heidegger, and, finally, in the debate on madness between Foucault and Derrida, Güven gestures toward a nonreducible, disruptive form of negativity, articulated in Heidegger's critique of Hegel and Foucault's engagement with Derrida, that might allow for the preservation of real otherness and open the possibility of a true ethics of difference.

Nina Lykke explores the speaking position of a mourning, queerfeminine ”I”, who contemplates the relationship with her dead beloved lesbian life partner. She reflects on her enactment of processes of co-becoming with the phenomenal and material traces of the deceased body, and the new assemblages with which it has merged through death's material metamorphoses: becoming-ashes through cremation, and becoming-mixed-with-algae-sand when the ashes were scattered across a seabed made of fiftyfive million-year-old, fossilized algae. It is argued that the mourning “I”'s intimate bodily empathizing (theorized as symphysizing) with her deceased, queermasculine beloved life partner facilitates the processes of vitalist-material and spiritual-material co-becoming, and the rethinking of death from a new and different perspective than that of the sovereign, philosophical subject.

Loin des nombreuses interprétations psychologisantes de Gethsémani, et sur le terrain métaphysique cette fois de l'Évangile confronté aux recherches philosophiques de notre temps (existentialisme et phénoménologie), le Fils nous apprend au contraire jusque dans son corps, positivement alors, et dans son unique langage du " Verbe fait chair ", ce qu'il en est précisément d'être homme quand l'homme, charnellement, souffre de ne plus entendre Dieu.
