CE QU'EN PENSE LA CRITIQUE Dans un livre très riche, la journaliste Aurélie Louchart se penche sur les cheveux crépus et sur l'histoire chargée qui les entoure. Alors que la nouvelle porte-parole du gouvernement Sibeth Ndiaye vient de subir un vent de racisme à cause de sa coiffure, ce livre est plus que nécessaire. - Marguerite Nebelsztein, Terrefemina Je vous l’avoue, je n’en avais jamais entendu parler, pourtant, cet ouvrage mérite vraiment qu’on s’y intéresse. Il retrace l’histoire du cheveu crépu et entreprend d’expliquer pourquoi il est méprisé et sans cesse tourné en dérision. Ce livre est relativement court et facile à lire. Et pour les non-initiés, c’est plutôt une très bonne chose. L’auteure est blanche. Oui, on s’en fiche. Sauf que, le fait qu’elle ait eu à tout découvrir du sujet est un avantage. C’est-à-dire que c’est un miroir pour les lecteurs qui ne connaissent RIEN à l’histoire du cheveu crépu. On se sent proche de l’auteure, on n’est pas perdus pendant la lecture, on a les mêmes réactions, les mêmes étonnements, les mêmes références et on fait les mêmes découvertes - Ingrid Baswamina, Ingrid a des Cheveux À PROPOS DE L'AUTEURE Aurélie Louchart a fait des études en hypokhâgne, en école de journalisme et en sciences politiques, avant d'exercer dix ans en tant que journaliste avec pour fil rouge la vulgarisation de sujets complexes (elle coordonne actuellement la publication bimensuelle d'un centre de recherche en sciences sociales). Elle a passé sa vie à naviguer entre différents milieux sociaux et culturels : elle a habité 23 ans en Seine-Saint-Denis avant de construire sa vie d'adulte entre Paris et l'étranger. Elle contribue également plus largement au monde avec le collectif féministe Georgette Sand, dans une permanence dédiée aux femmes migrantes à la Cimade, et via la traduction d'un livre à destination des victimes de viol.
