Download or read book SPOOCEFEM: The Simplified Parallel Object-Oriented Computing Environment for the Finite Element Method With Application: Liquid Composite Molding written by and published by . This book was released on 2003 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The use of object-oriented programming techniques in development of parallel, finite element analysis software enhances software reused and makes application development more efficient. In this report, an object-oriented programming framework for developing parallel finite element software is described. All required steps, from date file parsing and equation solving to post processing and graphical user interfaces, are discussed. After development of the framework, a sample parallel finite element code, namely COMPOSE, is extracted from its original functional programming paradigm and implemented in the new object-oriented programming framework. Besides ease of development, the use of generic visualization and interface tools for software using the framework speeds delivery of research codes to end users.
Book Synopsis Distributed Computer-Aided Engineering by : Hojjat Adeli
Download or read book Distributed Computer-Aided Engineering written by Hojjat Adeli and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2020-09-23 with total page 256 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Networking of personal computers and workstations is becoming commonplace in academic and industrial environments. A cluster of workstations provides engineers with a familiar, cost-effective environment for high performance computing. However, workstations often have no dedicated link and communicate slowly on a local area network (LAN), such as the Ethernet. Thus, to effectively harness the parallel processing or distributed computing capabilities of workstations, new algorithms need to be developed with a higher computation-to-communication ratio. Distributed Computer-Aided Engineering presents distributed algorithms for three fundamental areas: finite element analysis, design optimization, and visualization - providing a new direction in high performance structural engineering computing.

This book was released on 2005-04-28 with total page 747 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: VECPAR is a series of international conferences dedicated to the promotion and advancement of all aspects of high-performance computing for computational science, as an industrial technique and academic discipline, extending the fr- tier of both the state of the art and the state of practice. The audience for and participants in VECPAR are seen as researchers in academic departments, g- ernment laboratories and industrial organizations. There is now a permanent website for the series, http://vecpar.fe.up.pt, where the history of the conf- ences is described. ThesixtheditionofVECPARwasthe?rsttimetheconferencewascelebrated outside Porto – at the Universitad Politecnica de Valencia (Spain), June 28–30, 2004. The whole conference programme consisted of 6 invited talks, 61 papers and26posters,outof130contributionsthatwereinitiallysubmitted.Themajor themes were divided into large-scale numerical and non-numerical simulations, parallel and grid computing, biosciences, numerical algorithms, data mining and visualization. This postconference book includes the best 48 papers and 5 invited talks presented during the three days of the conference. The book is organized into 6 chapters, with a prominent position reserved for the invited talks and the Best Student Paper. As a whole it appeals to a wide research community, from those involved in the engineering applications to those interested in the actual details of the hardware or software implementations, in line with what, in these days, tends to be considered as computational science and engineering (CSE).

Book Synopsis The Combined Finite-Discrete Element Method by : Antonio A. Munjiza
Download or read book The Combined Finite-Discrete Element Method written by Antonio A. Munjiza and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2004-04-21 with total page 348 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The combined finite discrete element method is a relatively new computational tool aimed at problems involving static and / or dynamic behaviour of systems involving a large number of solid deformable bodies. Such problems include fragmentation using explosives (e.g rock blasting), impacts, demolition (collapsing buildings), blast loads, digging and loading processes, and powder technology. The combined finite-discrete element method - a natural extension of both discrete and finite element methods - allows researchers to model problems involving the deformability of either one solid body, a large number of bodies, or a solid body which fragments (e.g. in rock blasting applications a more or less intact rock mass is transformed into a pile of solid rock fragments of different sizes, which interact with each other). The topic is gaining in importance, and is at the forefront of some of the current efforts in computational modeling of the failure of solids. * Accompanying source codes plus input and output files available on the Internet * Important applications such as mining engineering, rock blasting and petroleum engineering * Includes practical examples of applications areas Essential reading for postgraduates, researchers and software engineers working in mechanical engineering.
