Book excerpt: In my earlier works, "Discovering God Through Nature: A Pantheist's Journey" and its add-on, "Cosmic Harmonism: The Oneness of God and Nature," I explored the philosophical underpinnings of pantheism, delving into its metaphysics, ontology, epistemology, ethics, and eschatology. Building on this foundation, this book shifts focus towards theological dilemmas, offering a pantheistic perspective on issues traditionally addressed by theistic religions such as Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. This book also defends the pantheistic worldview against potential philosophical attacks coming from theistic presuppositionalists. This exploration addresses profound questions including the problem of suffering, divine hiddenness, the concept of hell, and the reconciliation of divine sovereignty with human responsibility, alongside the challenges posed by divine attributes. While some of these topics were touched upon in my previous books, here they are examined in greater depth. This book is structured as a compilation of multiple independent essays, each presenting a detailed exploration of key aspects of pantheism. While each essay stands on its own, collectively they reinforce a comprehensive understanding of pantheistic philosophy and theology. This format allows for an in-depth discussion of specific theological and philosophical issues, enabling readers to engage with each topic thoroughly and independently from others. This compilation not only showcases my thoughts on pantheism but also provides a versatile approach for readers to explore topics of particular interest in detail, contributing to a deeper and more coherent understanding of the pantheistic worldview.

Book excerpt: Reincarnation, auras, and energizing crystals -- surely these are the stuff of fairy tales, nothing more. People don’t really speak to ancient Egyptian holy men, or listen seriously to Shirley MacLaine, for that matter -- do they? Drawing from a range of occult, pagan, and pseudo-scientific traditions, the New Age Movement is broad, diffuse, hard to nail down -- and insidiously dangerous. Its belief in the "divinity of humanity," its emphasis on "self-actualization," and its looking forward to a coming utopian "new world" have tremendous appeal. But does it have the truth?

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many books have successfully defended Christianity against Western rational skepticism. 'Apologetics in the New Age' represents the first serious attempt by evangelical philosophers to answer Eastern pantheism in general and the New Age movement in particular. Teaming up with David Clark, Norman Geisler, one of evangelicalism's leading apologists, probes the pantheistic worldview and its relationship to the New Age movement. Pantheism, the authors write, constitutes the soil in which the movement grows. The notion that every person participates in the divine has found fertile expression in contemporary American culture. The American consciousness of the Eastern alternative has risen rapidly in the last few decades, the authors remind us. Christian apologists have been caught unaware.... For this reason, we believe that Christian apologists must turn their attention in a new direction by developing new arguments for this New Age.

Book excerpt: Many people who do not believe in God believe that 'everything is God' - that everything is part of an all-inclusive divine unity. In Pantheism, this concept is presented as a legitimate position and its philosophical basis is examined. Michael Levine compares it to theism, and discusses the scope for resolving the problems inherent in theism through pantheism. He also considers the implications of pantheism in terms of practice. This book will appeal to those who study philosophy or theology. It will also be of interest to anyone who does not believe in a personal God, but does have faith in a higher unifying force, and is interested in the justification of this as a legitimate system of thought.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is true that mankind itself has probably always been characterized with the main desire to determine just what spiritual truth really is. For centuries and centuries, highly educated philosophers and religious men alike have always stood toe-to-toe, disagreeing on spiritual truth. Since they cannot all be right, this would strongly indicate that education, religious persuasion, or even intelligence has little to do with our discovery of the real spiritual truth. For if these things were truly critical, then obviously, the spiritual/intellectual giants of history would have agreed on spiritual truth long ago. In this work, author Ted Even endeavors to show that the disagreeing intellectuals/skeptics of the past only serves to reinforce Christ's radical statement about our need to just become like little children in order to discover the spiritual truth and that literally everyone has the same opportunity to enter the kingdom of heaven on that basis. However, while super-intelligence or big degrees may not be necessary, the discovery of spiritual truth does require just one very reasonable quality of heart which little children have always possessed. Find out just what this basic quality of heart is as you continue your search for spiritual truth within this simple to understand work which only leaves the real spiritual truth left standing.

Allanson Picton James Allanson Picton was a British independent minister, author, philosopher, and Liberal politician. Picton promoted a philosophy known as Christian pantheism which he chose as the subject of this book. According to his belief, the universe is nothing more than a manifestation of God. Starting by explaining the versions of this belief that pre-date Christianity, he moves on to explain how it evolved to suit this faith and how it's further adapted to fit the modern world at the time of this book's writing.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Pantheism is the idea that God and the world are identical—that the creator, sustainer, destroyer, and transformer of all things is the universe itself. From a monotheistic perspective, this notion is irremediably heretical since it suggests divinity might be material, mutable, and multiple. Since the excommunication of Baruch Spinoza, Western thought has therefore demonized what it calls pantheism, accusing it of incoherence, absurdity, and—with striking regularity—monstrosity. In this book, Mary-Jane Rubenstein investigates this perennial repugnance through a conceptual genealogy of pantheisms. What makes pantheism “monstrous”—at once repellent and seductive—is that it scrambles the raced and gendered distinctions that Western philosophy and theology insist on drawing between activity and passivity, spirit and matter, animacy and inanimacy, and creator and created. By rejecting the fundamental difference between God and world, pantheism threatens all the other oppositions that stem from it: light versus darkness, male versus female, and humans versus every other organism. If the panic over pantheism has to do with a fear of crossed boundaries and demolished hierarchies, then the question becomes what a present-day pantheism might disrupt and what it might reconfigure. Cobbling together heterogeneous sources—medieval heresies, their pre- and anti-Socratic forebears, general relativity, quantum mechanics, nonlinear biologies, multiverse and indigenous cosmologies, ecofeminism, animal and vegetal studies, and new and old materialisms—Rubenstein assembles possible pluralist pantheisms. By mobilizing this monstrous mixture of unintentional God-worlds, Pantheologies gives an old heresy the chance to renew our thinking.
