Book Synopsis Oxides of Nitrogen in Engine Exhaust with Ammonia Fuel by : R. Sutton
Download or read book Oxides of Nitrogen in Engine Exhaust with Ammonia Fuel written by R. Sutton and published by . This book was released on 1966 with total page 27 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: At maximum output, more oxides of nitrogen are produced by combustion of ammonia than with hydrocarbon fuels. This is partly a result of peak power occurring at low mixtures with ammonia. Disproportionate quantities of nitrogen oxides which are encountered with ammonia at lean mixture ratios indicate a probable result of the direct production of NO in the ammonia pyrolysis scheme. Download or read book Air Pollution by Nitrogen Oxides written by L. Grant and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 1125 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Studies in Environmental Science, Volume 21: Air Pollution by Nitrogen Oxides presents the proceedings of the US–Dutch International Symposium on Nitrogen Oxide, held in Maastricht, The Netherlands on May 24–28, 1982. This book provides research and development information related to the national and international policies on nitrogen oxides in the United States, The Netherland, Japan, and elsewhere in Europe. Organized into five sessions encompassing 94 chapters, this volume begins with an overview of the atmospheric cycle of nitrogen oxide in terms of source strength, destruction rates, and atmospheric chemistry. This text then examines the fundamental physical and chemical processes involved in the formation of nitrogen oxides. Other chapters consider the regional pulmonary deposition of nitrogen dioxide in man, guinea pigs, rats, and rabbits by using a general mathematical model formulation for the transport of gases in the lungs. This book discusses as well the emission control methods and systems with low nitrogen oxide capability for possible application in The Netherlands and other parts of Europe. This book is a valuable resource for government administrative officials, research scientists, air pollution control experts, and students.

Book Synopsis CO2 Free Ammonia as an Energy Carrier by : Ken-ichi Aika
Download or read book CO2 Free Ammonia as an Energy Carrier written by Ken-ichi Aika and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-11-01 with total page 679 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book describes important findings in intensive studies conducted in Japan on ammonia as an energy carrier. It illustrates an advanced solar-heat capture system and storage materials at 600°C and hydrogen production with SOECs and a new IS method through the use of heat. New industrial ammonia catalysts and a demonstration process that started running in Fukushima are also introduced. Advanced ammonia decomposition catalysts and the process that were developed for use by the hydrogen station are presented. An advanced direct ammonia fuel cell was developed and the base data are shown. The book explains that ammonia is used as a fuel for industrial applications because its burning can be controlled without emitting extra NOx in the gas turbine and the real coal co-fired power plant. These breakthroughs have made a strong impact in the world as a practical technology for CO2 reduction. Also provided here are the scientific and industrial backgrounds as well as the environmental assessment and economic evaluation for the future. This book will be helpful for all who are interested in energy technology—researchers, students, and strategy planners at companies and in the government.

Book Synopsis The Catalytic Chemistry of Nitrogen Oxides by : Richard Klimisch
Download or read book The Catalytic Chemistry of Nitrogen Oxides written by Richard Klimisch and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 337 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book contains the papers and discussions from the sympo!,ium on "The Catalytic Chemistry of Nitrogen Oxides" held at the General Motors Research Laboratories on October 7-8, 1974. This symposium is the eighteenth in the annual series presented by the Research Laboratories. The topics for these symposiums have covered a broad range. Each topic was selected to be of intense current interest and of significant technical importance. There is no question that the subject of the 1974 Symposium satisfies these two criteria. The control of automotive nitrogen oxides has been perhaps the most difficult and controversial area of automotive emissions both in terms of what is necessary and in terms of what is technically feasible. This area has been a source of considerable discussion not only in the technical community but also in governments both in the U. S. and abroad. This meeting brought together scientists working in surface chemistry with engineers working on system design. It also brought together representatives of government, academia and industry. We feel that an important side benefit of the meeting was the improved understanding that was developed between these groups. Participants came from Europe and Japan as well as Canada and the United States. The technical papers spanned the range from fundamental interactions of NO on surfaces through bench scale kinetic and mechanistic studies and ended with catalytic applications. Although the emphasis was on automotive NO removal, stack gas NO x x control was also covered.
