Therefore all of our works are complete and unabridged unless specifically stated otherwise, which means that unlike some other independent publications you get what you see and pay for. No unplesant surprises. 2. We endeavour to bring you updated editions of classic works. Therefore this work is not a scan, but is a completely digitized version of the original. 3. Unlike, many other independently published works, our publications are easy to read. Therefore you won't find illegible, faded, poor quality photocopies here. Neither will you find poorly done OCR versions of those faded scans either, with illegible "words" that contain all kinds of strange characters like , %, &, etc. Our publications have all been looked over and corrected by the human eye. 4. We can't promise perfection, but we're sure gonna try! As an instructor of laymen in an interdenominational school for the past seven years, I have striven to teach the fundamental doctrines of the Bible received by all evangelical denominations. Since this outline seemed to meet the need of my students, I have been asked to have it published that it might be used by the various Workers' Training Classes, and Bible students generally, who desire a more thorough knowledge of these fundamental doctrines, but who cannot take the time necessary to read the larger works on theology. No pretensions are made to originality in the subject matter, but a free use has been made of works studied during the preparation of the outline, and I acknowledge especially the helpfulness of "Christian Theology for the People," by Willis Lord, D. D.; "Introduction to Christian Theology," by Prof. Henry B. Smith, D. D.; "Handbook of Christian Theology," by Rev. Benjamin Field; and "Outlines of Theology," by Archibald Alexander Hodge, D. D., from which works the part on Redemption was largely taken. I wish also to acknowledge the very valuable assistance of Rev. E. H. Knight in editing the book. If some earnest student of the Word, some humble disciple of our Lord, is strengthened spiritually, is better fitted for his life work in saving and edifying souls, I shall be more than repaid for my labor. DAVID ALLEN REED. School for Christian Workers, Springfield, Mass. September, 1893.

Book excerpt: Excerpt from Series of Dissertations on the Fundamental Doctrines of the Bible: The Object of Which Is to Communicate Truth Affirmatively in a Style Direct and Practical A large proportion of our ministers enter the traveling connection with but limited scientific culture and literary acquisitions. They are expected immediately to preach more than the ministers of any other Church, meet classes, catechise the Sabbath schools, hold protracted meetings one half the year, and make countless pastoral visits. Under these circumstances, it is obvious, a young man needs theology during his novitiate, at least, in a small compass. Download or read book The Great Bible Doctrines written by William Evans and published by DigiCat. This book was released on 2023-11-16 with total page 297 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The doctrines treated in this book are dealt with from the standpoint of Biblical rather than Dogmatic theology. This is evident from the plan which is followed in the work, namely, to gather together all the Scripture passages dealing with the subject under consideration, and from them choose a required number that may be called representative; then seek to understand the meaning of these references by the study of the text itself as well as its context and parallel passages; and finally, from the selected proof-texts, formulate the doctrinal teaching, and place such results under appropriate headings. The doctrines of God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit are more fully dealt with than the doctrines which follow. This is especially true of the doctrine of God. The reason for this is to set forth the method pursued in these studies, and to give a pattern for the study of the doctrines to follow. (William Evans, The Great Doctrines of the Bible)

Download or read book Bible Doctrine written by Wayne A. Grudem and published by Zondervan Academic. This book was released on 2014-10-28 with total page 529 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How do we know the Bible is God's Word? What is sin and where did it come from? How is Jesus fully God and fully man? What are spiritual gifts? When and how will Christ return? If you've asked questions like these, then "systematic theology" is no abstract term. It's an approach to finding answers every Christian needs to know. Bible Doctrine takes a highly commended upper-level textbook on systematic theology and makes it accessible to the average reader. Abridged from Wayne Grudem's award-winning Systematic Theology, Bible Doctrine covers the same essentials of the faith, giving you a firm grasp on seven key topics: The Doctrine of the Word of God The Doctrine of God The Doctrine of Man The Doctrine of Christ The Doctrine of the Application of Redemption The Doctrine of the Church The Doctrine of the Future Like Systematic Theology, this book is marked by its clarity, its strong scriptural emphasis, its thoroughness in scope and detail, and its treatment of such timely topics as spiritual warfare and the gifts of the Spirit. But you don't need to have had several years of Bible school to reap the full benefits of Bible Doctrine. It's easy to understand—and it's packed with solid, biblical answers to your most important questions.

Book Synopsis Ten Fundamental Doctrines (Classic Reprint) by : B. J. W. Graham
Download or read book Ten Fundamental Doctrines (Classic Reprint) written by B. J. W. Graham and published by . This book was released on 2015-07-12 with total page 144 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Ten Fundamental Doctrines Believing that a fresh discussion of certain doctrines in The Christian Index would both do good and be appreciated, the editor conceived the idea of publishing a Doctrinal Number. Accordingly, he planned for ten articles on so many fundamental doctrines, and selected an equal number of men to prepare them. Fortunately, every man complied with his request and wrote on the subject assigned him. The issue was published, and a thousand extra copies were printed. It would have required several additional thousand copies to have supplied the demand. Before the publication of the Doctrinal Number, the subjects and the names of the men to discuss them were announced. This resulted in the suggestion that the articles be published in book form. Of course when the authors prepared the articles they had no thought that they would be published in permanent form. In justice to them their permission was sought and secured to make such use of them. Their publication in book form was conditioned upon advance orders. Such orders have been sufficiently large to authorize the publication of the book. "Election" and "The Lord's Supper" are discussed more fully than any of the other subjects.
