Book Synopsis THE WOOLVERTON FAMILY: 1693 – 1850 and Beyond, Volume II by : David A. Macdonald
Download or read book THE WOOLVERTON FAMILY: 1693 – 1850 and Beyond, Volume II written by David A. Macdonald and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2015-06-30 with total page 741 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Charles Woolverton was in Burlington County, New Jersey, by 1693, and appears in records there and in Hunterdon County until 1727. David Macdonald and Nancy McAdams have traced Charles' descendants to the seventh generation, by which time they had spread out to many parts of the country ... This is a beautifully crafted genealogy. The format is easy to follow, and the documentation is impressive. The compilers have carefully explained their handling of problem areas, including the need to refute longstanding family lore about the immigrant ... This is an exemplary work, which descendants will certainly value and other genealogists would be well advised to study. -- Excerpts from a review published in the April 2003 issue of The New York Genealogical and Biographical Record and reprinted with permission of the author, Harry Macy, Jr. and The New York Genealogical and Biographical Society.

Anthony: National protection for national citizens, 1873-1880 written by Elizabeth Cady Stanton and published by Rutgers University Press. This book was released on 1997 with total page 672 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: National Protection for National Citizens, 1873 to 1880 is the third of six planned volumes of TheSelected Papers of Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony. The entire collection documents the friendship and accomplishments of two of America's most important social and political reformers. Though neither Stanton nor Anthony lived to see passage of the Nineteenth Amendment in 1920, each of them devoted fifty-five years to the cause of woman suffrage. The third volume of the Selected Papers of Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony opens while woman suffragists await the decision of the U.S. Supreme Court in cases testing whether the Constitution recognized women as voters within the terms of the Fourteenth and Fifteenth Amendments. At its close they are pursuing their own amendment to the Constitution and pressing the presidential candidates of 1880 to speak in its favor. Through their letters, speeches, articles, and diaries, the volume recounts the national careers of Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony as popular lecturers, their work with members of Congress to expand women's rights, their protests during the Centennial Year of 1876, and the launch that same year of their campaign for a Sixteenth Amendment.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Everything in this book is true! This is an event that happened on June 1st, of 1935, and everyone that was involved is gone today. For almost 90 years now the family has asked the question, how could this happen to such a sweet and innocent woman, living in what has always been known as a very safe place to live? Her life on earth was short, and even her family never really knew her full story. She was adopted at birth. She found out she was adopted as a young teenager after her adopted mother took her to see a woman at the Toledo State Hospital. She was first described as her aunt, and then she was told the truth, that it was her real mother. She marries at 16 years old, with her adopted mother giving the consent. She and her husband live an ordinary life, in the rural community known as Sylvania Township in Lucas County, Ohio, with all the struggles that the Depression years brought. They had ten children, and after her husband passed away she had to take a night job to eek out a living. That job required her to walk approximately four and a half miles to and from work. One night she didn’t make it home. The county sheriff, coroner and prosecutor all agreed it wasn’t an accident, and that’s when the investigation began. Who did this to this sweet woman who was needed so badly at home? Will we ever find out the truth?
