Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is entitled Odds, Ends, Tidbits & Pieces of the Bread of Life from the Master's Table. The title of the book just about summarizes everything that's in the book. The book consists of a group of small articles concerning love, grace, mercy, peace, joy, comfort, and more. I've also added some cute little snippy sayings that sort of fit Christian living and will cause you to pause and ponder what I've put in the book. Being a Christian is like a billboard: I'm out there for the whole world to see! JUST READ AND ENJOY IT! I was born on May 31, 1924 in Columbus, Georgia. I joined the U.S. Navy in 1941 and met and married Joyce Attebery in December 1945. In 1950 I enlisted in the U.S. Army. After retirement, in July 1975, my wife suffered a stroke. Suddenly, while my wife was in a coma, I remembered, God is the great healer. I started to pray. God heard and answered my prayers, but I continued my life of sin. After nine months, the Spirit of God came to me and I made a definite and positive commitment to live for God by inviting Jesus Christ into my life. Since then I have been baptized with the Holy Spirit and been blessed with this amazing poetry, parables and other writings.

This book was released on 2013-02-15 with total page 231 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Collected for the first time in a single volume are these true and often comic stories of the South China Coast. Seventy visitors from around the world give vivid accounts of their experiences—of high society at Government House and low life in Canton gaols, of spies in Hong Kong and pirates on buccaneering junks, of typhoons, burglars and Eastern magic, of gambling, opium and slavery. Most revealing of all, they write about their encounters with the people, the misunderstandings between East and West, the constant battle of wits between Chinese and foreigner, united only by a pidgin lingo. This was a time when the Colonial Secretary could say with confidence: “I have in vain sought for one valuable quality in Hong Kong… I can see no justification for the British Government spending one shilling on Hong Kong”. First published in 1986, this classic volume is sure to entertain and inform a whole new generation of readers

This book was released on 2017-02-15 with total page 369 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When anyone thinks of motorcycling, whether they are enthusiasts or only casually interested, the name Harley-Davidson immediately comes to mind. Harley-Davidson is among the oldest surviving motorcycle manufacturers; the company began in 1903 and continues to this day. As you can imagine, over the course of more than 100 years, the company has seen prosperous times as well as lean times, changes in focus and direction, evolution and revolution. All of that leads to a lot of company history and trivia. American Iron Magazine associate editor Tyler Greenblatt has compiled 1,001 Harley-Davidson facts into this single volume, with subjects ranging from the historic powertrains to pop culture to Harley-Davidson as a company and manufacturer. Facts begin with the early years, when a motorcycle was not much more than a bicycle with an engine attached, to the war efforts of World War I, when 15,000 were put into service. During the 1920s, Harley-Davidson grew into the largest manufacturer in the world, and that momentum helped carry it through the Great Depression and into World War II. Postwar development and AMF ownership are also covered in detail, as well as the restructuring and revival of the brand in recent years. Whether you're a casual rider, racer, or restorer, Harley-Davidson enthusiasts will be sure to find something in this book for that next conversation with fellow hobbyists. This book will keep Harley-Davidson enthusiasts entertained for hours, and is a great edition to any motorcycling library. p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Arial}

Tony Webster thought he left his past behind as he built a life for himself, and his career has provided him with a secure retirement and an amicable relationship with his ex-wife and daughter, who now has a family of her own. But when he is presented with a mysterious legacy, he is forced to revise his estimation of his own nature and place in the world.

Download or read book Seven Tales of the Pendulum written by Gregory L. Baker and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2011-02-24 with total page 248 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The pendulum is a unique physical system which exhibits remarkably varied and complex behavior under many different conditions. It is also a system which, in its many manifestations, has left a significant imprint on human thought and culture. Using graphs, figures, and narrative to explain scientific ideas and models, Gregory Baker gives a lucid account of the physics of the pendulum, showing the reader how the context of the pendulum progresses over four centuries from that of a simple system of classical physics, to that of a chaotic system, and eventually to that of a modern quantum system. He also describes its fascinating presence in cultural history, from its role in timekeeping and measurements of the earth to its importance as a literary symbol of doom. Seven 'tales', detailing different important facets of the pendulum, show the exciting diversity of the science of the pendulum, and its untold significance in the history of human intellectual development.
