Book excerpt: A elaboração deste trabalho constitui-se na aliança do sistema de registro de imóveis com o Direito Econômico, a qual levou ao principal objetivo da pesquisa, que é demostrar que o custo do registro de imóveis é condizente com a proteção da propriedade e com a segurança jurídica no Direito Civil de diferentes matizes, a exemplo da família da common law e da família romano-germânica. Um debate que ficou enriquecido com as variáveis impacto econômico, transação imobiliária e segurança jurídica, esta que, necessariamente, impõe-se e deve ser a garantia do direito subjetivo do proprietário no registro imobiliário, sobretudo por uma instituição confiável que traga esse tipo de segurança aos agentes econômicos. Em vista desses pressupostos, as considerações finais dão conta que, primeiramente, sem direitos de propriedade não existe mercado econômico, considerando que os agentes não podem intercambiar os bens se não houver uma vinculação entre proprietários e bens; sem direitos de propriedade eficientes não podem existir mercados eficientes e sem esses últimos não se verifica crescimento econômico. Assim sendo, o impacto econômico não advém dos custos de registros, mas da segurança jurídica que um determinado sistema jurídico e, consequentemente, um determinado sistema de registro proporcionam, nomeadamente um sistema de registro forte, ou seja: quanto mais eficiente o sistema registral de um país, maior a possibilidade de circulação de riquezas e de desenvolvimento econômico.
