Book Synopsis Fallacy of Militant Ideology by : Munir Masood Marath
Download or read book Fallacy of Militant Ideology written by Munir Masood Marath and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2021-09-05 with total page 164 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book highlights the conflict between jihadist militants and the West as essentially ideological in character. It has serious implications internalized by Muslim societies, with the boundaries of faith changed by the interplay of socio-political variables. Violence emerged in Muslim societies as a means of emancipation or identity when the state could not resolve the conflict situation. Although the militants were influenced by socio-political factors, they have always looked to religion to justify their acts of violence. This book, exposing the fallacy of the narrative evolved by the militants, offers a counter narrative. It reinterprets the primary sources, unravels the historical and socio-political constructs, unmasks the heroes and enemies, challenges the dichotomies between theory and practice, re-establishes the boundaries between heresy and faith, and attempts to transform the current ideological discourse. ~ This book will be of interest to students and scholars of the discourse between religion and security, political Islam, Islamic history, jihad, Middle Eastern studies, and South Asian studies.
Book Synopsis Lives of the Companions by : Maulana Yusuf Kandhelawi
Download or read book Lives of the Companions written by Maulana Yusuf Kandhelawi and published by Islam Today Publishing . This book was released on 2023-12-29 with total page 333 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What did the Prophet look like and why did only a small handful of Sahaba describe his physical characteristics? Why did the Prophet enjoin us to express fealty to Muslim leaders even when they were corrupt? What happen to an umma that is deprived of leadership? What is bay’a, is it necessary and what does it mean for Muslims today? How do we call people to Allah and is da'wah work for everyone? Maulana Yusuf Kandhelawi answers all these questions and much more through the beautiful and enlightening stories of the Sahaba. Since Hayat al-Sahaba first came out, it has inspired millions to understand Islam beyond concept, theory and interpretations of religious text. It immerses us into the reality of how Islam can be lived and applied in any time, past, present and future and that we all can be shaded by the mercy of Allah despite our differences like the Sahaba who despite their different personalities and temperaments all achieved the pleasure of Allah. A thousand talks on taqwa and love for Allah and His Prophet could not help us understand what one anecdote of the taqwa of the Sahaba and their love for Allah and His Prophet can teach us about the values and meanings we hold dear to our hearts as believers in Allah and His final Prophet.
Book Synopsis The Politics of Muslim Intellectual Discourse in the West by : Dilyana Mincheva
Download or read book The Politics of Muslim Intellectual Discourse in the West written by Dilyana Mincheva and published by Liverpool University Press. This book was released on 2016-01-15 with total page 209 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a case study in the literary, psychoanalytic, and theological encounters between diasporic Muslim intellectuals and secular western modernity. It centres on the simultaneous search for the possibility of both a reformation of Islamic fundamentalism and a transformation of the exclusionary limitations of western public institutions. With roots in original research in the fields of comparative religion and cultural studies, and drawing on sources in English, French, and Arabic, the author introduces and elaborates the concept of "Western-Islamic public sphere". This concept defines what is at stake in the formative play of public representations where traditionalist foundations and modernist adaptations meet, clash, and produce discourse around their common disequilibrium. The Western-Islamic public sphere (which is secular but not secularist and which is Islamic but not Islamist), within which a critical Islamic intellectual universe can unfold, deals hermeneutically with texts and politically with lived practices. It emerges from within the arc of two alternative, conflicting, yet equally dismissive suspicions defined by a view that critical Islam is the new imperial rhetoric of hegemonic orientalism and the opposite view that critical Islam is just fundamentalism camouflaged in liberal rhetoric. This innovative and original scholarly apparatus offers a third view -- one that arises in its practice from ethical commitment to intellectual engagement, creativity, and imagination as a portal to the open horizons of conflictual history.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: All praises to the Sustainer of the worlds, and grace, honor and salutations on the Chief of Apostles and Seal of Prophets, Muhammad, his family, companions and those who followed him in an excellent fashion and invited mankind towards Allah, till the Day of Resurrection. This is a reality which can be stated without any ambiguity and Exaggeration, that in the Islamic world of today the most power full, use full and all-encompassing effort, is the struggle of the Tablighi Jamaat whose center is situated at the Tablighi Markaz Nizamuddin,Delhi(India). The scope of this effort and its impact is not restricted to the India subcontinent, or Asia, but extends to many continents and to a host of Islamic and Non- Islamic States. The history if such campaigns and revolutionary or reformative movements shows that, after passage of a period of time,or when the scope of the effort enlarge greatly ( specially when, by means of it, the attainment of certain advantages and leadership become apparent)then such weaknesses, unwanted objectives and neglect of the original goals set in, which reduce or even totally wipe out the true influence of the work.
