Book Synopsis All Things New by : Erin McCole Cupp
Download or read book All Things New written by Erin McCole Cupp and published by Our Sunday Visitor. This book was released on 2021-05-07 with total page 171 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It’s time to break the cycle. Not every family is the perfect model of Catholic family life. Some of us approach parenting still wounded by childhood experiences that were less than ideal. When we start our own families, at best we feel a bit unprepared, and at worst we feel paralyzed with fear that we will repeat our parents’ dysfunctional, abusive behaviors. In All Things New, Erin McCole Cupp draws on her own and others’ experiences to discuss how to develop a joyful family life when our own experience of being parented was damaging. Erin wrote this book for moms and dads who want to parent better than they themselves were parented. Drawing on the Holy Family as the model of family life, and distilling practical lessons from the Two Greatest Commandments and the Beatitudes, All Things New shows readers that, while change isn’t easy, God has given us all the ingredients we need to create a holy, joyful family. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Erin McCole Cupp is a wife, mother, and lay Dominican. She cohosts the monthly YouTube series Sabbath Rest Book Talk and writes the monthly “Adventures of a Rosary Family” column at CatholicMom.com. Get to know Erin and her books at erinmccolecupp.com.

I am a very quiet person and a bit shy and only shared my stories with a few of my closet friends. (But always with my daughter). I had no one else there with me through these trials and dilemmas, (just my daughter and years later my son) which are what I know now as my testimonies, trials and triumphs.

You sell everything you own and live out of your Jetta, selling CDs from the trunk of your car of course! From Dove Award-nominated singer/songwriter Jodi King of Love & The Outcome, comes You Got This, a devotional collection of inspiring lyrics, quotes and affirmations that capture the singer’s wisdom, humor and luminous personality and connects the dots to a fulsome life lived with purpose and faith. Now a family of four, Jodi, her husband Chris, 4 year-old Milo Wolf and 2 year-old Ziggy Bear live life on the edge with Jesus at the centre as Jodi shares devotionals from the road about how to not just read your verse of the day, but live it out in real time. Recalls Jodi: “Confidence isn’t pretending to have it all together, it’s admitting you don’t, but He does. When I was on our first tour with both boys, Ziggy was 6 weeks old! I remember trying to fit into my skinny jeans, nurse a baby and run onstage and it felt like everything was falling apart. I literally cried out to God in my dressing room. In that moment, everything changed. Instead of trying to be perfect and have it all together, I let his perfect love hold me and my family together. You Got This is a page by page reminder that confidence isn’t having it all together, it’s letting God hold you together. As Jodi shares how to stay in love, be a wife, have kids and a career, and let go of trying to be perfect amidst it all, you will be encouraged to do the same. The key? Going from ‘I got this’ to ‘God, I know that You got this ... Because I don’t!’

Book excerpt: Glenn Packiam redefines the word lucky in the context of Jesus’ beatitudes in Luke’s Gospel. Lucky uncovers how the poor, hungry, mourning and persecuted are blessed because the Kingdom of heaven—its fullness, comfort, and reward—is theirs in spite of their condition. This is Christ’s announcement: the Kingdom of God has come to unlikely people. Like the people Jesus addressed, we are called lucky not because of our pain or brokenness but because in spite of it, we have been invited into the Kingdom. The trajectory of our lives have been altered. What’s more, we now have a part in the future that God is bringing. Like Abraham, we have been blessed to carry blessing, to live as luck-bearers to the unlikely and unlucky.
Book Synopsis 8-8-88 Symbols of a Life Path by : Catharine Arnold
Download or read book 8-8-88 Symbols of a Life Path written by Catharine Arnold and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2003-07-02 with total page 218 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Telling someone that his or her life is whatever fate has in store for them is one thing. Now try telling them that they had a hand in designing that fate. With a strong belief in a higher power and faith in her place in life is how Catharine shows her perspective of life. Karma, reincarnation and a refusal to use words like coincidence or accident are the basis of this belief system she has acquired for herself. 8-8-88 Symbols of a Life Path is a liberal dose of spiritualism mixed with conservative common sense. Being a Libra, Catharine shows her natural urge to balance the two. 8-8-88 Symbols of a Life Path has so many meanings to the author as she explains how she advanced her spiritual sense because of these symbols she recognized. These were obvious symbols in her life path that only confirmed her beliefs. A couple of predictions from a psychic were only a fun thing tried a few times for entertainment purpose only. Then the predictions fulfilled themselves and the symbols thought of, as a coincidence became reality. When someone shows you your life chart and suddenly it becomes fulfilled to the last detail you tend to pay attention to the signs along the way. Now whose reality does she see and how does she base that perception? Catharine takes a look at the possibilities that may be behind the symbols she has been shown and the probability that she placed them there to help her see that karmic trail she must follow. A third child a dozen years after her second and a series of medical problems including cervical cancer were seen as symbols to Catharine. To look at these changes in a sense of them being a burden or a misfortune is to limiting a thought for her. The symbols in her life path were put there because of the way they needed to shape her life. We all have a purpose and a time for everything we do. Our guides give us symbols along the way we just need to recognize them as the signs they are. It's never about what has happened to you, it's only about how you responded to it.
Book Synopsis Why Did God Make You? by : Maurice C.
Download or read book Why Did God Make You? written by Maurice C. and published by Covenant Books, Inc.. This book was released on 2024-04-25 with total page 117 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The shift in moral standards across the world has changed dramatically in the last eighty years. The shift has not been good for society, and the influence of Satan has grown. Once a God-fearing and loving society, we are now a God-ignoring and self-satisfying nation. The Ten Commandments, once considered vital, are now treated as less than ten suggestions. We have moved so far away from a God-centered world that I suspect He will do something dramatic to regain our attention. We have probably passed the point of no return in our relationship with our Creator. Mary and many Saints have warned that we need to return to Him, and I believe that only some divine intervention will bring us home to Him. My children and grandchildren didn't have the religious education we had. Most of them can't answer the question, "Why did God make you?" So I am asking you who had a solid religious education and belief to share that education with the young people. I have taken on the job of praying my children and grandchildren into heaven. If you agree, please join me. Ask the Father in Jesus's name to bring us home for eternity. Live and share the reason God made you. Tell the children what you learned; to know Him, to love Him, and serve Him. This is the purpose of our existence. Share it with the ones we love deeply. We live in His world. No matter what man tries to do, He is still, and always will be, in charge. In my judgment, the only power strong enough to coordinate all the confusion we've seen in the world today is Satanic power. Satan is constantly on the attack, but we have the power on our side to overcome his influence. In the end, Jesus will triumph coming in glory. His love and mercy is endless and will be shared by those who make an effort to do the will of the Father. The sisters taught us about the sacraments. Talk to your children and grandchildren about them. Encourage them to go to confession and to attend mass, and God will take care of them. Don't be afraid. He put us here and now for a reason, and I believe the reason is for us to help each other to know, love, and serve Him. Let's pray them into heaven with us. It has been two years getting this book to print. The changes in the world condition over that time has deteriorated significantly. Knowing the reason of our existence has become even more crucial than it was two years ago. The Russians have invaded Ukraine, and their action threatens world safety. Mary warned us of this threat over one hundred years ago. We are past time in listening to her words of warning. This week in March 2022, the Ukrainian bishops are pleading with the Pope to consecrate Russia to Mary. While we wait to see how the world situation unfolds, we might renew our own consecration to Mary and to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The world is praying for peace. I believe it is time to do more than to ask God for favors. It is time, past time, to add actions to our prayers taking Tom's example by the practice of fasting and other forms of self-sacrifice. I need to stop asking and to start doing. He doesn't need my sacrifice, but He loves my surrender. I witnessed a beautiful sign on the first Friday of March. The morning mass usually has thirty-five or so attendees. On this last first Friday, there were over 120. People are responding to Mary's call. If you haven't joined her yet, please do for your benefit, your children's benefit, and for the salvation of the world. Thank you again.
