Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over the last thirty years the European aeronautical industry has achieved a respected and internationally successful position. This EC-Aeronautics Research Series provides the opportunity to present the results of recent research projects in areas critical to the future competitiveness of the industry in world markets. It contains Technical Publications of the completed EC-Aeronautics pilot phase project work, which has been supported under Area 5 : "Specific Activities Relating to Aeronautics" of the Brite/Euram Programme within the Second Framework Programme of European Community Activities in the Field of Research and Technology Development (1989?1992). This volume presents the three projects which, under this pilot phase, carried out work in three areas of noise and acoustics technologies: exterior noise, cabin noise, and acoustics loads in relation to structural fatigue.

This book was released on 2018-06 with total page 62 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report summarizes the work conducted by the Structural Acoustics Integrated Technology Development (ITD) Team under NASA's High Speed Research (HSR) Phase II program from 1993 to 1999. It is intended to serve as a reference for future researchers by documenting the results of the interior noise and sonic fatigue technology development activities conducted during this period. For interior noise, these activities included excitation modeling, structural acoustic response modeling, development of passive treatments and active controls, and prediction of interior noise. For sonic fatigue, these activities included loads prediction, materials characterization, sonic fatigue code development, development of response reduction techniques, and generation of sonic fatigue design requirements. Also included are lessons learned and recommendations for future work.Beier, Theodor H. and Bhat, Waman V. and Rizzi, Stephen A. and Silcox, Richard J. and Simpson, Myles A.Langley Research CenterACOUSTICS; RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT; CIVIL AVIATION; SUPERSONIC WIND TUNNELS; ACOUSTIC FATIGUE; TURBULENT BOUNDARY LAYER; JET AIRCRAFT NOISE; ENGINE INLETS; FINITE ELEMENT METHOD; NOISE PREDICTION (AIRCRAFT); ACTIVE CONTROL
Book Synopsis Acoustic Fatigue of Aircraft Structures at Elevated Temperatures by : Cecil W. Schneider
Download or read book Acoustic Fatigue of Aircraft Structures at Elevated Temperatures written by Cecil W. Schneider and published by . This book was released on 1974 with total page 218 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An analytical and experimental program was conducted to develop acoustic fatigue design criteria for aircraft structures subjected to intense noise in a high temperature environment. Equations for the dynamic response of a buckled panel were formulated for simply supported boundary conditions using large deflection plate theory. Random amplitude acoustic fatigue testing of representative aircraft structure was accomplished at temperatures up to 600 F to provide data for correlation with the analytical results. Empirical design criteria are presented in the form of design equations and nomographs for predicting the combined thermal and dynamic response of aircraft structures.

Random amplitude acoustic fatigue testing of representative aircraft structure was accomplished at temperatures up to 600 deg F to provide data for correlation with the analytical results. Empirical design criteria were developed in the form of equations and nomographs for predicting the thermal and dynamic response of aircraft structures subjected to combined environments. The empirical design criteria are presented in handbook format for design use; examples and computer programs are also presented.
