Book Synopsis Nano-electrocatalyst for Oxygen Reduction Reaction by : Omar Solorza Feria
Download or read book Nano-electrocatalyst for Oxygen Reduction Reaction written by Omar Solorza Feria and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2024-06-21 with total page 350 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Global warming switches our reliance from fossil fuels to green, sustainable renewable energy sources. Because of its promising nature, high-efficiency nano-electrocatalysts have sparked interest in renewable energy. Hydrogen fuel cell/polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) vehicles are the most environmentally conscious electromobility vehicles, with a high energy density and quick refuelling technology, prompting the auto industry to launch a variety of PEM fuel cell vehicles around the world. Oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) primary research interests include fuel cells and metal-air batteries. The sluggish kinetic reaction of ORR, which is responsible for the rate-limiting reaction at the PEM fuel cell cathodic system, further decreases energy efficiency. Optimising ORR for market expansion with cost-effective and efficient nano-electrocatalysts, on the other hand, remains a challenge. The book covers fundamental ORR reaction kinetics theories, tools, and techniques. It also explains the nano electrocatalysts for ORR made of noble, non-noble, and nanocarbon materials. Finally, the book explores the applications of PEM fuel cells and metal-air batteries.

Download or read book Lead Chemistry written by Pipat Chooto and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2020-10-14 with total page 118 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Lead continues to amaze us in a variety of ways. The more we learn, the more we are amazed, or more like it, obsessed! Even though we might think that we know the element quite well, the fact is that more research must be conducted to support its subtle behaviors and effects. The most obvious aspect is the effects of lead on health. Because lead is still in use today, we have to understand the effects of lead on our metabolisms. In addition, more and more compounds of lead have been continuously synthesized and their properties and behaviors are required with the help from a variety of scientific disciplines. To provide information for newcomers, especially students or even the public, the overview of lead effects has been included in this book. Despite the variety of lead aspects the book might seem to contain, at least some topics should suit readers? interests. The rest, meaning the contents for new books, depends on how fast you can take the benefits out of this book!
Book Synopsis Hysteresis of Composites by : Li Longbiao
Download or read book Hysteresis of Composites written by Li Longbiao and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2019-12-11 with total page 178 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book introduces the hysteresis and damping of, and damage to, composites. It analyzes the following areas: damage mechanisms affecting the hysteresis of composites, mechanical hysteresis of ceramic-matrix composites, hysteresis behavior of fiber-reinforced ceramic-matrix composites (CMCs), relationship between the internal damage and hysteresis loops of CMCs, and mechanical hysteresis loops and the fiber/matrix interface frictional coefficient of SiC/CAS and C/SiC composites. A damping study on aluminum-multiwalled carbon nanotube-based nanocomposite materials is discussed to increase the damping property for applications like engine heads, pistons, cylinder blocks, and other aerospace components. The effect of ceramic/graphite addition to the dry sliding wear behavior of copper-based hybrid composites has been assessed at three different normal loads of 9.81, 19.62, and 29.34 N. The authors hope this book will help material scientists and engineering designers to understand and master the hysteresis of composites.
Book Synopsis Introduction to Zeolite Science and Practice by : P.A. Jacobs
Download or read book Introduction to Zeolite Science and Practice written by P.A. Jacobs and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2001-06-26 with total page 1078 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In view of the substantial progress made in the last decade in the fields of zeolites and related materials it was decided to go for an extended 2nd Edition of "Introduction to Zeolite Science and Practice". Unfortunately - as often is the case - this process took more time than expected by the Editors. In the mean time some new texts on zeolites were issued. Nevertheless, the combination of data, discussion and dedication provided by the present book is a unique coverage of the field, in the opinion of the Editors. In the present Edition the number of chapters rose from 16-22. The contributions can be divided into three categories: updated chapters by the original authors, updated chapters by an expanded or new team of authors and completely new chapters. This 2nd Edition also contains new chapters on "Zeolite-based supramolecular assemblies" (by Dirk De Vos and Pierre Jacobs, experts in this area) and on "The use of bulky probe molecules" (by Paul Kunkeler, Roger Downing and one of the Editors). Finally, the super large pore zeolites and the fast growing area of ordered mesoporous materials are dealt with by Eelco Vogt, Charlie Kresge and and Jim Vartuli. The latter two authors belong to the discoverers of the M41S family of mesoporous materials.
