Book excerpt: The book The Unforgettable Experience! reflects countless memories of how I had to overcome obstacles through learning how to trust the process of God. This book reflects different experiences of how I had to travel in the same place but the same season, and even when I have traveled different places, I was still repeating some of the similar experiences. This book reflects the different levels of maturity of growth that I had encountered and experienced through each journey that I have had with God. The unforgettable experience will reflect the many times that I have experienced hearing the voice of God through many twists, bumps, turns, dead-end roads, self-doubts, and disappointments that life had to offer me. This book will reflect every area of my encounter of self-esteem, self-identify, season of suicide, season of rejection, season of brokenness, season of being misunderstood, and season of the lost. The Unforgettable Experience! is not just a book that reflects the countless encounters with my faith but this book reflects the journey of how I once thought things were impossible that God showed me that he was the Father of impossibilities and the Father of possibilities. The Unforgettable Experience! will speak of the many accounts how having faith in God had brought me out some of the darkest places in my walk. Although this was a journey, this book will empower many that have gone through similar experiences and going through the now experience that what I thought was impossible, God took every situation in my life that had occur to turn around for my good. If God could do it for me, the Father can surely do for you. This book reflects how God was molding me for purpose, and now I know my full purpose because of those experiences. What I thought was breaking me was just making me. What I thought that I could not overcome, I overcame through faith, transformation, and trust.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A unique commentary on the preliminary practices of Vajrayāna Buddhism, from a beloved Nyingma master. A Chariot to Freedom is one of the most beloved presentations of the preliminary practices, or ngöndro, that form the foundation of the Vajrayāna Buddhist path. This set of practices, common to all schools of Himalayan Buddhism, is what nearly every practitioner begins with, yet it also constitutes a complete method in and of itself. Although ngöndro are considered a prerequisite for further teachings and initiations into other practices, many of even the most accomplished masters continue to engage in them every day. Most of the other excellent works on these foundational techniques are specific to a particular tradition, but this text is widely considered to be exemplary, in part, because it is applicable to all traditions of ngöndro. Drawing from the original words of the Buddha in the sūtras and from later treatises by such masters as Nāgārjuna, Shāntideva, and Guru Padmasambhava, Shechen Gyaltsap’s commentary is a wonderfully curated anthology of Buddhist teachings on the preliminary practices of Vajrayāna Buddhism. It covers the thoughts that turn one’s mind away from ordinary pursuits and toward enlightenment, taking refuge, arousing the mind set on enlightenment (bodhichitta), purification, maṇḍala offering, and Guru Yoga. Shechen Gyaltsap explains why each practice is beneficial and provides profound and eminently useful guidance for practitioners, while simultaneously transmitting the wisdom of generations of Buddhist masters.

Book excerpt: The history of Irish Travellers is not analogous to that of the 'tinker', a Europe-wide underworld fantasy created by sixteenth-century British and continental Rogue Literature that came to be seen as an Irish character alone as English became dominant in Ireland. By the Revival, the tinker represented bohemian, pre-Celtic aboriginality, functioning as the cultural nationalist counter to the Victorian Gypsy mania. Long misunderstood as a portrayal of actual Travellers, J.M. Synge's influential The Tinker's Wedding was pivotal to this 'Irishing' of the tinker, even as it acknowledged that figure's cosmopolitan textual roots. Synge's empathetic depiction is closely examined, as are the many subsequent representations that looked to him as a model to subvert or emulate. In contrast to their Revival-era romanticization, post-independence writing portrayed tinkers as alien interlopers, while contemporaneous Unionists labelled them a contaminant from the hostile South. However, after Travellers politicized in the 1960s, more even-handed depictions heralded a querying of the 'tinker' fantasy that has shaped contemporary screen and literary representations of Travellers and has prompted Traveller writers to transubstantiate Otherness into the empowering rhetoric of ethnic difference. Though its Irish equivalent has oscillated between idealization and demonization, US racial history facilitates the cinematic figuring of the Irish-American Traveler as lovable 'white trash' rogue. This process is informed by the mythology of a population with whom Travelers are allied in the white American imagination, the Scots-Irish (Ulster-Scots). In short, the 'tinker' is much more central to Irish, Northern Irish and even Irish-American identity than is currently recognised.

This is a sincerely personal and honest sharing of the addicts world with the readers journey consistently benefiting from scriptural support. Tom Caldwell, PhD This is one of the most valuable books written on recovery. It was not birthed in a clinic by a team of doctors. This is a compilation straight from the heart of a former addict who has experienced the personal struggles of the fight to freedom. After reading this book, every addict and those close to an addict can know that victory is possible. As a personal devotional or as a guideline for group study, this book will help you secure hope for a bright and better future. Robert, a former addict loved by Jesus Is this book only useful to addicts? I definitely doubt that. We all fall short of the glory of God. We need to be humble and repentant. To different degrees and in different ways, we all struggle. This is good reading for everyone. Franz Eitel, PhD

From here she delves into drugs and their use around the world. She teaches how each works in the body and explains that the high is not a high at all, but rather the rearrangement of the brain’s own chemistry. Erika uncovers the Bible’s teachings of “The Prison House” that the addict finds him or herself in. She explains the story of Samson as a picture of the addictive cycle. Erika Grey teaches God’s Word on how to get free from the House of Bondage and stay free. She reveals details from the book of Joshua and Judges on how to obtain victory from the enemies within our person that drive us to our addictions. The purpose is so that each reader can find their Promised Land, a place of joy and peace and fellowship with God. Book excerpt: The purpose of this book is many-fold! So many teens are struggling to find their identities, and parents are spending sleepless nights wondering what to do next. As a mental health practitioner in public school settings from the small to larger schools, the author has found that for the most part we are all the same inside, whether from the city or country, whether from private schools or public schools or home schooled. Dr. Syntha Traughber West has put together her own life's experiences, her years of parenting, and of course the countless conversations with parents and teens who have provided her the pleasures, as well as the pains, of being in a trusting environment with an offered listening ear and a sounding board from a caring professional's point of view. Parents, if you are seeking a guide to put your teen in a better position to be ready for college with a better chance for financial aid, to check your parental skills in knowing your children and helping then make decisions, and are looking for peace in your own lives, then look inside these pages for wisdom and practical experiences to find answers to achieving those goals.
