Critical Race theory (CRT) was utilized throughout this article to analyze the detrimental effects of the stay-at-home order on Latinx individuals and families and the lack of racial awareness when constructing and enacting policy during a disaster. Results show that Brown bodies, specifically, Latinx individuals and families, continue to be disproportionately impacted by COVID-19 at alarming rates. America is rooted in White Supremacy and we must work to raise our critical consciousness to push back against false narratives given to marginalized groups.
