Book Synopsis The Oil & Gas Year Brazil 2019 by : The Energy Year
Download or read book The Oil & Gas Year Brazil 2019 written by The Energy Year and published by The Oil & Gas Year Limited. This book was released on 2019-09-09 with total page 105 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Oil and gas production is expected to increase over the coming decade, with the ANP projecting an output of 5.5 million bopd by 2027-2028. Furthermore, 44 offshore production systems are expected to come on line by 2030. Brazil has started to attract the attention of oil majors across the globe and will continue to be a regional investment hub for years to come. As such, the report covers the laws and regulations of the new administration that will shape the local investment environment. This third edition also delves into other attractive business opportunities in Brazil’s conventional offshore and onshore basins. Less than 30,000 wells have been drilled in the country’s oil and gas history, compared to almost double that in Argentina and more than 100 times that in the USA. The ANP recognises the need to incentivise E&P in areas the prolific Pre-Salt Polygon. Despite the progress being made in the development of Brazil’s oil and gas industry, challenges loom overhead. Environmental issues will come to the fore as some segments of society contest the new administration’s move to a more laisssez-faire market approach, particulary in areas near the Amazon rainforest. The government is under pressure to tackle these issues and push forward the industry’s development. Extensive in-depth analysis is supported by comprehensive maps, illustrations and graphs to create a market guide essential for players seeking to either expand their operations or enter the Brazilian oil and gas market.

Book Synopsis The Oil and Gas Sector in the Brazilian Economy by : Joaquim Guilhoto
Download or read book The Oil and Gas Sector in the Brazilian Economy written by Joaquim Guilhoto and published by . This book was released on 2015 with total page 28 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This paper presents the results of a research conducted to measure the importance of the oil and gas complex in the Brazilian economy and in its states, henceforth called O&G. Initially, the efforts were concentrated on the construction of an interregional input-output system for the 27 states of the Brazilian economy at the level of 42 industries, for the year of 2002. By using this system, it was possible to make an analysis of the role played by the oil and gas complex in the Brazilian economy and its states. First it was made an analysis of the economic flows linked to the oil and gas production, and then it is made an estimation of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) value generated by the oil and gas complex in the Brazilian economy and its states. It was also made a detailed analysis of the productive chain of the oil and gas, starting from the suppliers of inputs to the oil and gas production, going through the production itself and the various stages of refining and processing, and ending at the measuring of the services and distribution activities. The results show that the oil and gas complex has a share of around 10.4% of the Brazilian GDP, while the share in the GDP of the states ranges from less than 1% to 27%.

Book excerpt: This book presents the ability to bring together a single work of scientific articles from the best minds of the Institute of Environment and Energy of the University of São Paulo to analyze the legal, regulatory, and technical architecture of the natural gas exploration chain in Brazil. The theme is current and relevant, considering that global conflicts are relevant to the energy issue and access to means of energy generation. Also, with the change of the Brazilian regulatory framework for the gas market, to promote its deconcentration and facilitate the entry of new entrants, knowledge of the current rules is of paramount importance for scholars on the subject. The deconcentration of the market will result in increased competitiveness and investment by the private sector in the gas sector, resulting in a reduction in fuel prices. Hope the readers enjoy it!

Book Synopsis Local Content Policies in the Oil and Gas Sector by : Silvana Tordo and Yahya Anouti
Download or read book Local Content Policies in the Oil and Gas Sector written by Silvana Tordo and Yahya Anouti and published by World Bank Publications. This book was released on 2013 with total page 174 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A number of countries have recently discovered and are developing oil and gas reserves. Policy makers in such countries are anxious to obtain the greatest benefits for their economies from the extraction of these exhaustible resources by designing appropriate policies to achieve desired goals. One important theme of such policies is the so-called local content created by the sector—the extent to which the output of the extractive industry sector generates further benefits to the economy beyond the direct contribution of its value-added, through its links to other sectors. This paper provides a detailed description of the policy context, objectives, implementation tools, and metrics used in a select group of petroleum-producing countries, including Angola, Brazil, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, and Trinidad and Tobago. The information is further analyzed in the paper on Local Content in the Oil and Gas Sector, World Bank Studies, Washington D.C., 2013.
