John Nash won the 1994 Nobel Prize in economics for pioneering research published in the 1950s on a new branch of mathematics known as game theory. However the proofs also require results and techniques from other domains so elementary knowledge of commutative algebra, several complex variables, differential topology, PL topology and real singularities is required of the reader.
