Download or read book Real Sex written by Lauren F. Winner and published by Brazos Press. This book was released on 2006-07-01 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: SEX. Splashed across magazine covers, billboards, and computer screens--sex is casual, aggressive, and absolutely everywhere. And everybody's doing it, right? In Real Sex, heralded young author Lauren F. Winner speaks candidly to Christians about the difficulty--and the importance--of sexual chastity. With honesty and wit, she talks about her struggle to live a celibate life. Never dodging tough terms like "confession" and "sin," Winner grounds her discussion of chastity first and foremost in Scripture. She confronts cultural lies about sex and challenges how we talk about sex in church. Her biblically grounded observations and suggestions will be especially valuable to unmarried Christians struggling with the sexual mania of today's culture. Real Sex is essential reading for Christians grappling with chastity and a valuable tool for pastors.
Download or read book Naked Chastity written by Dora Muhammad and published by Createspace Independent Pub. This book was released on 2014-01-27 with total page 68 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dora Muhammad shares an intimate collection of poetry drawn from her life of chastity for over 24 years. From her vow taken as a teenager to her sustained commitment through the end of her thirties, she offers a lyrical narrative that virtue demands more than just not having casual and uncommitted sex. Chastity will move us beyond celibacy and abstinence and cover every fiber of our being in a remarkable and irrevocable way. Speaking to those single and married, she presents a paradigm where sex is sacred, and the consecration of sexual communion within marriage aligns our individual purity with our mutual pleasure, and produces a healing covering for and from our holy matrimony. Inspired by the description of Jesus' healing power as virtue going out from him in the Biblical account of the woman with the issue of blood touching the hem of his garment, she speaks of the spiritual and creative gifts that virtue has imbued into her being. She writes to affirm that we must protect the virtue of our children to allow them to grow into their fullest potential and power; that we can reclaim our own virtue regardless of our past experiences or current circumstances; that virtue is present in the world today to overcome it and transform us through healing in the process of being made whole. This is not a manual, guide or textbook. It seeks to edify others along their personal work of virtue, to nourish seeds of chastity; and through its blossoms, inspire others to refuse to dwell in the land of lack and longing but seek to thrive in an oasis of an abundant outpouring of God's love and healing, where virtue is affirmed.

Book Synopsis Facing Redemption by : Kimberly McKay
Download or read book Facing Redemption written by Kimberly McKay and published by Kimberly McKay. This book was released on 2012-08-21 with total page 344 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What if you had done something so unimaginable in your past that you felt you could never be forgiven? John Mikale, a man with a checkered reputation, can’t begin to shake his guilt for the hurt he’s caused his daughter, Chastity, and how it scarred so many people in its wake. Although an uphill battle, John diligently strives to make up for lost time by writing Chastity letters hoping to bridge the gap. John, who's now married and expecting another child, is haunted by cryptic dreams from which he awakes in terror. Driven to become a better man, he forces himself to face his nightmares and the reality they represent. Searching for decency within and hoping for a flicker of acceptance from Chastity is the only way he knows to release his past and heal both their wounds. But how can he expect forgiveness when he can’t begin to forgive himself for the hurt he’s caused? Chastity Wayne, finally free from her mother’s past, is ready to move on with life. On the verge of a great relationship and about to start her burgeoning art career, she’s sucked back into her family saga as she breaks her personal promise never to read her father’s letters. From the moment the first envelope is opened, the emotional freedom she’s tried so hard to find is slowly reclaimed word by word. Facing Redemption is a dual storyline that follows the path of an unwanted father and daughter’s journey, through a trail of self-awareness and final acceptance. It is also a continuance of the many unanswered questions from Finding Kylie, book one in this series. WARNING -I write about characters that struggle with real-life issues. My characters, to date, have never done the deed. In fact, they've chosen the right path with abstaining from their desire for the right reasons. However, this book will touch on the subject - so be aware. Why does a 'Christian' author talk about such things? I believe Christians are sinners, and we're saved by God's grace. We're NOT going to be white as the driven snow, and if you think Christians should be you're kidding yourself. HOWEVER, I believe by accepting Jesus - that God gives us the strength and desire to be more like Him when-when we're searching for His influence in our lives. We're not all going to be there out of the gate and even when we do finally reach that point - we're going to fall and stumble. Why? Because we sin. It's human nature. Even if we don't want to - we're going to mess up. That's the beautiful thing about building a relationship with God. He takes us 'where we are' (hence characters in this book who are going to say something or do something questionable) and brings us to where He wants us to be. Isn't that what it's all about? Knowing that we all can come to Him, no matter how badly we've screwed up? This is the whole point of GRACE! So, heads up to those who have been offended by this - or those who may be offended by this - please know God loves all of us -right where we are - and that's whom I'm called to write about.

When objects begin appearing out of nowhere, Calamity knows that the special gift she has not felt since childhood has returned-her ability to find lost things. Calamity, a woman as contrary as the tides around her Caribbean island home, is confronting two of life's biggest dramas. First is the death of her father, who raised her alone until a pregnant Calamity rejected him when she was sixteen years old. The second drama: she's starting menopause. Now when she has a hot flash and feels a tingling in her hands, she knows it's a lost object calling to her. Then she finds something unexpected: a four-year-old boy washes up on the shore, his dreadlocked hair matted with shells. Calamity decides to take the orphaned child into her care, which brings unexpected upheaval into her life and further strains her relationship with her adult daughter. Fostering this child will force her to confront all the memories of her own childhood-and the disappearance of her mother so many years before.
