What is it that he is listening and looking for? In ""What Are God's Ears Tuned To"", David W. Palmer helps us sit at Jesus's feet and understand what He revealed about His Father's heart. By placing two complete chapters of the Gospel into context, David shows how our Lord and Teacher weaves layer upon layer of revelation into his everyday stories. As a result, we can align our objectives to God's objectives, and invest our efforts and resources into what he sees as wise. "I believe this book can help all Christians gain the understanding, motivation and grace needed to tune our hearing to what God is listening for." -David W. Palmer

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Gordon Christensen and Geneva Noren were born in different parts of the country and into different hard times. Gordon grew up in the south end of Seattle in the 1920s, where his family faced many struggles in the New Land to which they had moved after World War I. Geneva was raised on a small farm in Dust Bowl Kansas where faith in God was the family's greatest hope. God proved His love and care for these young people as they learned to trust in Him in any adversity--lessons that would be the key to life or death as these young Christians found each other, and found their way onto the mission field in the Belgian Congo. Their adventures, escapes, and discoveries underscore these truths about their God: He is all powerful, all loving, and everywhere present.

Book Synopsis The God We Worship by : Wolterstorff, Nicholas
Download or read book The God We Worship written by Wolterstorff, Nicholas and published by Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing. This book was released on 2015-03-03 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In The God We Worship Nicholas Wolterstorff takes a ground-up approach to liturgical theology, examining the oft-hidden implications of traditional elements of liturgy. Given that no liturgy has ever been composed from scratch, Wolterstorff argues that the assumptions taken into worship are key to perceiving the real depths of historical Christianity s understanding of God. Across the liturgies of the Orthodox, Catholic, Episcopal, Lutheran, and Reformed churches, Wolterstorff highlights theologically neglected elements of God, such as an implicit liturgical understanding of God as listener. A dissection of liturgy is not only interesting, Wolterstorff argues, but crucial for reconciling differences between the God studied by theologians and the God worshiped by churchgoers on Sunday.
Book Synopsis From My Heart, to God's Ears by : Jamie Yvonne Gray
Download or read book From My Heart, to God's Ears written by Jamie Yvonne Gray and published by . This book was released on 2017-07-05 with total page 68 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Prayer has always been a part of Jamie's life. As a child, Jamie's late Grandmother; (Dartherl Hamilton) or Granny as Jamie refers to her, taught Jamie to be consistent in her communication with God, The Father, Creator of All. "Listen here Jamie, hear me good now; since God created us and everything else, who would know better on what to do about any and every situation? Huh?" Good ole Granny, always right on time with the Spiritual encouragement. Jamie, being very observant, noticed something; what Jamie noticed was; that no matter what arisen in Granny's life, Granny seemed to never be shaken or moved by the situation or circumstance, and when Jamie asked her Granny why that was; Granny's reply was "Cuz I talked it over with "The Master, and He let me know it's gone be alright!" Then she'd just giggle. Talking it over with "The Master" was the way Jamie's Granny referred to being in prayer. So, the more Jamie prayed the more Jamie desired to pray and Jamie soon came to discover that prayer is not just about asking God to fix all the problems in your life, instead, it's more about communication. It's about cultivating, improving, and developing a close or closer relationship with He who created her. And ummm.... Oh, what a beautiful epiphany. Eventually, Jamie notices during some of her talks with "The Master", that she would often speak to God poetically. So, Jamie decided to write down and keep those poetic conversations and Jamie has now chosen to take those personal, one on one poetic prayers and share them with you.
