Geralmente, essas produções são apresentadas em diferentes eventos acadêmicos (regionais, nacionais e internacionais), bem como publicados em revistas vinculadas a programas de pós-graduação. Mesmo com esse crescimento de produção científica e com a diversidade de estudos, os seus resultados nem sempre chegam até os professores de Matemática: sejam aqueles que efetivamente atuam em sala de aula nos diferentes níveis da educação básica, em processo de formação inicial, como também em formações continuadas. Somos também professores e atuamos na educação básica, técnica e superior. Organizamos este livro com a finalidade de trazer reflexões sobre vários fenômenos didáticos que emergem no cenário escolar em Matemática. Nosso interesse em reunir vários textos em um só corpo deve-se ao fato de acreditarmos que as reflexões tecidas, em cada capítulo, permitem ao leitor identificar elementos importantes que emergem em uma aula de Matemática. Portanto este livro apresenta-se como material destinado não apenas aos professores que atuam na educação básica, mas também àqueles colegas que trabalham com formação inicial e continuada de professores.
