Il n'était donc pas inutile que soient présentés les principes directeurs et les règles de conduite de cette méthode par un éleveur-herbager possédant tout à la fois, comme M. Voisin, une profonde connaissance et une solide expérience de la technique du "pâturage rationnel", et que soient signalées, par lui, les erreurs théoriques et fautes pratiques qui ont entravé son essor." Il y a, en effet, des fautes à ne pas commettre, et des principes à ne pas oublier, par exemple celui-ci : "Faites varier les temps de repos de l'herbe, entre chaque passage du troupeau, sans cependant exagérer le temps d'occupation des parcelles." Il est impossible de résumer un travail d'une telle tenue scientifique, comportant tant de tables et de graphiques, et tant de points de vue nouveaux qui ne manqueront pas de passionner l'éleveur, en creusant à fond un sujet dont dépend la rentabilité de son troupeau.
