Download or read book Futures we are in written by F. Emery and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 247 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After explicating the analytical framework I will proceed to develop scenarios as follows: I. General scenarios -maladaptive and adaptive. 2. The future for the Western group of societies. Within this will seek to identify the main changes in the natures of work, leisure, family organisation, education and life styles. 3. The future for the major Asian powers, China, Japan and India. 4. A world scenario centred about the first two scenarios but also aimed to locate within this pattern the most probable future for sets of the smaller societies and under-developed countries. The scenarios will be developed in that order, for good reasons. Sociological forecasting has to deal, in the first instance, with sets of societies that are closely interdependent, each with the other. A scenario for Western societies generally is required before one can hope to write one for the individual countries, e.g. France, Australia, because they are not evolving independently. The widespread upsurge of student revolts in 1967-68 well illustrates this interdependence. Some writers, like Stevens (1970) have taken the U.S.A. as the model of the future for the other smaller Western societies. There is some justifi cation for this as the U.S. has certainly been the 'leading part' in the West for some decades. However, there is danger in assuming that that will persist. A change in the near future in the problems that commonly confront Western societies may make the U.S. example 'depasee', old hat, if not down-right misleading.
Book Synopsis The Hitler Book by : Helga Zepp-LaRouche
Download or read book The Hitler Book written by Helga Zepp-LaRouche and published by Executive Intelligence Review. This book was released on with total page 260 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Was Hitler just a “lone assassin” of nations?--just a crazy fanatic who somehow managed to take power in a powerful nation and threaten world domination and destruction? Do all Germans genetically have fascist tendencies? The short answer is “No” to both of these mythologies (and numerous others from Hollywood and similar places). Yet, despite the importance of the subject and shelves full of books and scholarly writings on the topic, only this study by Helga Zepp-LaRouche and a Schiller Institute research team actually approximates a thorough analysis of Hitler and the NAZI movement—its origins and mystical philosophy, its fascist economic policies, its “race science,” its backers and promoters, its drug- and gun-running, its terrorism and assassinations. Most importantly, this book tracks the NAZI apparatus' transformation into today's “Green” anti-human movement and “religious” terrorism. At the end of the war, intelligence services engaged in a mad scramble to preserve and take over the NAZI old boys networks. Don't be so sure that the old swastika is gone for good. Trappings and tactics have changed somewhat, but the threat of global destruction is still hanging over us. Read this book and ensure that mankind can overcome the continuing menace and create a future of progress for all.

Book Synopsis The Leipzig Connection by : Paolo Lionni

Book excerpt: In the shadows of the Bismarcks totalitarian Germany in 1875, a little-known medical researcher laid the groundwork for a subject that in modern times was to bring American education to its knees--behavioral psychology. A latter-day disciple, B. F. Skinner, later wrote the book "Beyond Freedom and Dignity," arguing that such ancient conceptions as these are luxuries our brave new world can no longer afford. Another ardent follower--John Dewey, the "Father of American education"--took the new radical German redefinition of education to mean the reprograming of young brains and nervous systems, and applied it to his self-appointed task of creating in America the ideal socialist state. John D. Rockefeller, for purposes of his own, bankrolled what was in effect a hostile take-over of our educational establishment. "The Leipzig Connection" is a startling account of how and why these things came about. It lays out in concise detail the story of the development of the educational malaise which we have unknowingly dropped our children into, explaining not only declining SAT scores and the phenomenon of high school graduates who are barely literate, but also symptoms even more sinister: violence, prostitution and drug dealing in the schools, the self-mutilation of tattooing and body piercing, and teenage suicide.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Indeed, the great movement of modern history has been to disguise the presence of evil on the earth, to make light of it, to convince humanity that evil is to be ''tolerated, '' ''treated with greater understanding, '' or negotiated with, but under no circumstances should it ever be forcibly opposed. This is the principal point of what has come to be known as today's liberalism, more popularly known as secular humanism. The popular, and apparently sensible, appeal of humanism is that humanity should always place human interests first. The problem is that this very humanism can be traced in an unbroken line all the way back to the Biblical ''Curse of Canaan.'' Humanism is the logical result of the demonology of history. Modern day events can be understood only if we can trace their implications in a direct line from the earliest records of antiquit
