Twelve chapters range from the theoretical guiding principles of the research in terms of genre conception, the detailed description of each corpus (academic and professional), computational analysis from multi-dimensional perspectives, and the qualitative analysis of two specialized genres (University Textbook and Disciplinary Text) in terms of their rhetorical macro-moves and moves. Theoretically speaking, a multi-dimensional perspective (social, linguistic and cognitive) is emphasized and special attention to the cognitive nature of discourse genres is supported.

Book excerpt: En el presente trabajo se estudian el mortero de cal hidráulica y el mortero mixto de cal aérea y cemento Portland, siendo este último el más utilizado en la actualidad, ya que la cal ha pasado a un segundo plano en la construcción debido a los grandes avances en la producción de cemento a lo largo del siglo XX. Estos avances han desplazado a la cal, un material utilizado desde hace milenios, olvidando su alta resistencia al paso del tiempo, cuya prueba es el gran volumen de patrimonio histórico que ha llegado, casi intacto en algunos casos, hasta nuestros días, y en el que se ha utilizado el mortero de cal como principal ligante. Así, se pretenden establecer las principales diferencias y semejanzas de estos morteros realizando siete tipos de mezclas: dos morteros de cal hidráulica, dos morteros mixtos y tres formulados (utilizando como referencia un punto medio entre los dos tipos de cal hidráulica), intentando igualar la composición química de todos ellos, la relación conglomerante/árido, la consistencia, y sometiendo a todas las probetas al mismo protocolo de envejecimiento (mediante carbonatación acelerada). Todos ellos son diseñados para su uso en albañilería. Para analizar y caracterizar las principales propiedades de estos morteros, previamente se procederá a diseñar la campaña experimental, que consta de diferentes fases de ensayos: una fase del mortero en estado fresco y otra del mortero endurecido. También se analizarán los componentes de estos morteros (cal hidráulica y aérea, cemento Portland, árido) por separado, sometiéndolos a ensayos como la Fluorescencia y la Difracción de Rayos X, para averiguar su composición, o en el caso del árido estudiando la granulometría que posee para decidir si es apropiado para las mezclas. Los ensayos del mortero fresco determinarán propiedades como la densidad aparente y la consistencia. Del mortero endurecido se analizarán tanto las propiedades mecánicas (resistencia a flexotracción y a compresión, Módulo de Elasticidad Dinámico) como físicas (densidades aparente y relativa, porosidad, retracción aparente) y también las hídricas (permeabilidad al vapor de agua, absorción por capilaridad). Posteriormente, se procederá al análisis minucioso de los resultados que han proporcionado los ensayos realizados. Estos resultados se estudiarán en función de la naturaleza del mortero o en función de las propiedades experimentadas, para así determinar la relación entre unas propiedades y otras, y las diferencias y semejanzas buscadas entre los morteros. Finalmente, y tomando como referencia los resultados conseguidos y analizados, se concluye que no existen diferencias sustanciales entre ambos tipos de morteros, y siendo curiosamente los dos fabricados con cal hidráulica los que más difieren. Es decir, se pueden parecer mucho un mortero de cal hidráulica y uno mixto si se dosifican inteligentemente. También se demuestra que morteros con idéntica dosificación y distinta cal hidráulica presentan prestaciones sensiblemente diferentes.
