She had exposed her stepmother's framing and her younger sister's slander! However, she had thought that her heart had long ago become ice-cold. She had never thought that she would meet that man who was as gentle as a god, yet as cold as a devil, and that cute little baby behind him. "Do you want little Rui?" His voice was so charming. "Yes." "This is a whole set. If you want Little Rui, then you have to take me." He brazenly leaned toward her. Rumor has it that he is not a woman? Those were all lies! ***

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book will take you through a plethora of different emotions as you take a journey with the author on her quest to live a saved life. You will discover what many already know""being a believer does not exempt you from making poor decisions nor does it mean that you will never sin. In fact, quite to the contrary, what you will learn is that the well-known Scripture is true. "When I would do good, evil is present with me" (Romans 7:21). We invite you to take a look into the life of a saved girl who received Christ into her life at a very young age. Explore how she broke the chains of religion that had her bound and discovered true spirituality through developing her own personal relationship with God. What you will find is a perfect pathway to Christ as you realize that if God can forgive her for the multitude of sins she's committed, then certainly He can and will forgive you. There is nothing you've done that's so bad that God won't forgive you! You will learn that it's not God who has a problem forgiving us for our transgressions but rather it's ourselves. It isn't Christ who keeps us nailed to the cross through senseless judgment and condemnation""it's us! And sadly enough, many times, the same Christians who should seize every opportunity to pray for one another are the very ones standing in judgment. If you take nothing else from this book, it is imperative that we learn it's never okay to judge others because they sin differently than you do!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Tiger Mom. Asian patriarchy. Model minority children. Generation gap. The many images used to describe the prototypical Asian family have given rise to two versions of the Asian immigrant family myth. The first celebrates Asian families for upholding the traditional heteronormative ideal of the “normal (white) American family” based on a hard-working male breadwinner and a devoted wife and mother who raises obedient children. The other demonizes Asian families around these very same cultural values by highlighting the dangers of excessive parenting, oppressive hierarchies, and emotionless pragmatism in Asian cultures. Saving Face cuts through these myths, offering a more nuanced portrait of Asian immigrant families in a changing world as recalled by the people who lived them first-hand: the grown children of Chinese and Korean immigrants. Drawing on extensive interviews, sociologist Angie Y. Chung examines how these second-generation children negotiate the complex and conflicted feelings they have toward their family responsibilities and upbringing. Although they know little about their parents’ lives, she reveals how Korean and Chinese Americans assemble fragments of their childhood memories, kinship narratives, and racial myths to make sense of their family experiences. However, Chung also finds that these adaptive strategies come at a considerable social and psychological cost and do less to reconcile the social stresses that minority immigrant families endure today. Saving Face not only gives readers a new appreciation for the often painful generation gap between immigrants and their children, it also reveals the love, empathy, and communication strategies families use to help bridge those rifts.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is dedicated to all those who have been adopted and gone through similar situations. This is also for those who have adopted children. Each of us is different, yet we share common feelings and situations. Life is a journey that we all must explore and come to our own destination. I believe "fear of the unknown is often worse than the fear at hand." Don't let fear and your past dictate who you become, and don't let it hold you back or become your crutch in life. Let your spirit soar and live to your fullest potential. Remember that our past makes us the person we are today. Writing this book was very difficult. As a child, I was always taught that we don't talk about what goes on at home. Children's services was the enemy, and we don't tell them anything. Yet here I am, faced with a difficult decision of writing this book or not. Then I found this quote, and it changed my life! Sometimes what you're most afraid of doing is the very thing that will set you free. (Robert Tew) Thelma Merkle tells the story as she remembers it. It is through the eyes of a child and later an adult. The trauma experienced is not uncommon to many children and families. My hope is that you can see what a child who is adopted goes through and how this can affect them as they grow into adults. Adoption is a lifelong process. This is one example of many, so I encourage you to learn as much as you can about adoptees and their past. I also hope that anyone who is living in a similar situation will see that children's services is not the enemy, and they can help if you let them.

This book was released on 2010-10-18 with total page 372 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In narrative form, this book chronicles the five-year journey the author took with her father, afflicted with Alzheimers, to restore his dignity and help him reach his physical, mental, and spiritual potential. It presents the many obstacles, including the presence of evil forces and other family members mental disorders, which had to be overcome to accomplish this. The book illustrates how the common denominator of faith in God and a belief in His supreme will enabled communication with her father, with whom she previously had only limited interaction. She came to discover the importance of entering her fathers world, of confirming his reality, and to recognize though parts of the brain may be tangled and even gone, the response to spirit and tone actually remains. Her fathers sensory awareness and understanding increased, and she challenges some previous stereotypes held about patients with this disease. Pragmatically, the author gives the caregiver suggestions on how to ensure the patients sense of accomplishment and purpose and maps out daily activity processes. The book illustrates how previous experiences enabled them to survive their storm, as the author relentlessly struggled to keep her father from being institutionalized so he could remain a participant in this world. Occasionally, in a mans life, there is a book or manuscript that comes his way that is so far out of the norm and so deep beyond expectation that it requires thought, prayer, and time to assimilate the information through meditation. Theres a Storm Coming, Kathryn Huddlestons book on the subject of her fathers experience with Alzheimers disease and her passion to help him be the very best he could be physically, mentally and spiritually, is incredible. The journey with glimpses into the family life through the eyes of a person with medical insight, and ultimately, through a spiritual lens, allows us to take a peek behind the veil of one of the most difficult and tough situations facing many Americans today. This book is an incredible read for those who care about the condition of their fellow human beings. Maury Davis, Senior Pastor, Cornerstone Church, Nashville, TN Maury Davis Ministries God brings hope to us in stormy times. Through these dark years, compassion and care for loved ones is always first. This could not be more true than in this book. Michelle Stein, Executive Director, Alzheimers Solutions Project Center for Health Transformation, Washington, D.C. The author captures the readers attention by recounting in narrative form how she attempted to overcome the many challenges and trials in her stormy family in order to lessen her fathers turbulence and bring him peace in the last phase of his life. In an unassuming, authentic way, the author illustrates how she ensured her father remained a valued participant in the world. Giving caregivers concrete ideas on how she helped her father make decisions, ensured up-close and personal interaction with others, and recognized the importance of tone, spirit, and listening, the book should give them a sense of hope. E.L. Shoenfelt, Ph.D., Professor of Psychology, Western Kentucky University, Performance Psychologist Kathryn Huddleston believes that while in the midst of other life storms God gave her the gift to care for her father. Here she shares that journey in a very personal, detailed, and honest fashion. Not only is this a wonderful handbook for the Alzheimers caregiver, Kathryns story affirms my experience of Gods daily walk with those who appear to be absent. While we may see our loved ones as fading way, in reality, they may be living the old gospel hymn, Just a Closer Walk with Thee. This book gives the caregiver, or any reader, great spiritual hope. Chaplain R. Gene Lovelace, Alive Hospice, Nashville, TN

Book excerpt: One of the most harrowing child abuse memoirs you'll ever read . . . Please Save Me is a story of the sickening abuse to which a father subjected his daughter, which led to her giving birth to two children conceived from that abuse. Mandy's father was seen as a pillar of society but no one knew what went on behind closed doors. From the age of 11, he raped his daughter four times a week, like clockwork, forcing himself on her even when she was pregnant. After being dismissed and ignored for years, Mandy finally found someone to believe her and help bring her father to justice. This remarkable woman now tells her story in the hope of shedding light on the horrors so many children endure, as well as exploring the stigma of conception through rape. Mandy's is a story which will dismay any reader, but one which also offers hope and, ultimately, love. 'A wake-up call to those who turn a blind eye to the epidemic of child abuse across the globe.' Sammy Woodhouse, abuse victim, campaigner and author of Just a Child.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mr. Hatfield with all of his years of experience in marriage, parenting, family, missions and in the Church pulls no punches in calling Christ's Bride to return to His Truth (God's revealed Law-Word) regarding discipleship (men and women of faith and grace) in Manhood and Womanhood, outrageously successful spousal relations, parenting with training in romance, sexual satisfaction, love and marriage! He is calling all believers, especially men, to confession and repentance and to receive, understand and apply these Truths in the Power of the Holy Spirit as the only acceptable response in which God will revive and reform the Family and the Church in the 21st Century! Not for the weak-kneed, weak-minded or humanistically influenced, this is for Christ's Bride as we prepare for and anticipate His return! These applications of God's revealed Law-Word and His uncommon common sense in the lives of America's postmodern Christian culture and especially the promise of duplicating of these successes for love and marriage in our children, is exciting and challenging to the point of precedent setting magnitudes. The reader will experience riveting and exciting challenges to the status quo of our present day Christian culture. "Based on interviews with more than 1000 adults nationwide, the survey discovered that less than one out of every five adults believes that children under the age of 13 are being "superbly" or "pretty well" prepared for life emotionally, physically, spiritually, intellectually or physically. Fewer than one out of every twenty adults believes that America's youngsters are receiving above average preparation in all five of those areas of life." Americans Agree: "Kids Are Not Being Prepared for Life," The Barna Group-October 26, 2004 The couples, who discover the answers to the moral morass of our postmodern Christian culture, are those who know that the future of their children is in jeopardy and that we are in a war for the control of that future! Sadly, the statistics of broken homes, divorces, adultery, domestic violence, drugs and promiscuity - to mention only some of the ills of our culture - are almost equally divided between "Christian" families and non-Christian families. This is unacceptable as a comparison and must change. Consequently, fathers and mothers of faith and grace are those - who are and or who will experience - God's promise of victory over these fruits of our fallen nature and live a marriage experience that captures the best of God's gifts of love, sex and romance in marriage. Daddy's Little Girl and Mommy's Little Boy brings us clear evidence of just how America's Christian couples can have this victory in their marriage and how to duplicate this success in their sons and daughters.
