Book Synopsis Integrated Microelectronic Devices by : Jesús A. del Alamo
Download or read book Integrated Microelectronic Devices written by Jesús A. del Alamo and published by . This book was released on 2018 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The central goal of this book is to present the fundamentals of semiconductor device operation with relevance to modern integrated microelectronics (as opposed to, say, photonics, energy conversion devices, or power electronics). This means that no optical devices nor power devices of any kind are described. In contrast, emphasis is devoted to frequency response, layout, geometrical effects, parasitic issues and modeling in integrated microelectronics devices (transistors and diodes). In spite of this focus, the concepts learned here are highly applicable in other device contexts. This book should be a great resource for a broad range of students with a diverse set of interests."--

Book Synopsis Methods and Materials in Microelectronic Technology by : Joachim Bargon
Download or read book Methods and Materials in Microelectronic Technology written by Joachim Bargon and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-09 with total page 367 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The papers collected in this volume were presented at the International Symposium on Methods and Materials in Microelectronic Technology. This symposium was sponsored by IBM Germany, and it was held September 29 - October 1, 1982, in Bad Neuenahr, West Germany. The progress of semiconductor and microelectronic technology has become so rapid and the field so sophisticated that it is imperative to exchange the latest insight gained as frequently as it can be accomplished. In addition, it is peculiar for this field that the bulk of the investigations are carried out at industrial research and development laboratories, which makes some of the results less readily accessible. Because of these circumstances, the academic community, which among other things, is supposed to communicate the prog ress in this field to students of different disciplines, finds it rather difficult to stay properly informed. It was the intent of this IBM sponsored symposium to bring together key scientists from academic institutions, primarily from Europe, with principal investigators of the industrial scene. Accordingly, this symposium exposed technologists to scientists and vice versa. Scientific advances often lead directly to technological innovations. In turn, new technologies are often arrived at empirically and, because of that, are initially poorly understood. Scientific inquiry then attempts to probe these processes and phenomena in order to achieve a better understanding. Thus science and technology are intricately interconnected, and it is important that technical exchange between technolo gists and scientists is facilitated, since the problems are typically interdiscipli nary in nature.

Book Synopsis Understanding Microelectronics by : Franco Maloberti
Download or read book Understanding Microelectronics written by Franco Maloberti and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2011-10-21 with total page 694 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The microelectronics evolution has given rise to many modern benefits but has also changed design methods and attitudes to learning. Technology advancements shifted focus from simple circuits to complex systems with major attention to high-level descriptions. The design methods moved from a bottom-up to a top-down approach. For today’s students, the most beneficial approach to learning is this top-down method that demonstrates a global view of electronics before going into specifics. Franco Maloberti uses this approach to explain the fundamentals of electronics, such as processing functions, signals and their properties. Here he presents a helpful balance of theory, examples, and verification of results, while keeping mathematics and signal processing theory to a minimum. Key features: Presents a new learning approach that will greatly improve students’ ability to retain key concepts in electronics studies Match the evolution of Computer Aided Design (CAD) which focuses increasingly on high-level design Covers sub-functions as well as basic circuits and basic components Provides real-world examples to inspire a thorough understanding of global issues, before going into the detail of components and devices Discusses power conversion and management; an important area that is missing in other books on the subject End-of-chapter problems and self-training sections support the reader in exploring systems and understanding them at increasing levels of complexity Inside this book you will find a complete explanation of electronics that can be applied across a range of disciplines including electrical engineering and physics. This comprehensive introduction will be of benefit to students studying electronics, as well as their lecturers and professors. Postgraduate engineers, those in vocational training, and design and application engineers will also find this book useful.
