Book excerpt: Dans le cadre de la modélisation numérique de systèmes physiques présentant des signaux causaux, en présence d'incertitudes de modèle, on met en oeuvre dans le domaine fréquentiel l'approche probabiliste non-paramétrique sur les opérateurs qui sont sujets à cette causalité. Dans le modèle numérique nominal réduit, les matrices concernées deviennent des matrices aléatoires dont la dispersion statistique est contrôlée par un unique hyperparamètre chacune et dont la construction mathématique est connue. En effet, ces matrices aléatoires, complexes, ont des parties réelles et imaginaires qui vérifient les deux relations de Kramers-Kronig. Ces relations sont équivalentes et ainsi, on peut par exemple choisir d'asservir le modèle stochastique de la partie réelle à celui de la partie imaginaire afin de respecter le principe de causalité. Cette approche stochastique sera réalisée pour trois applications physiques, l'une en dynamique des structures composites viscoélastiques linéaires avec une première méthode directe pour calculer des réalisations des matrices aléatoires causales, puis deux autres en acoustique externe et en vibroacoustique linéaire externe avec une seconde méthode qui permet de respecter le principe de causalité sans calcul direct d'une relation de Kramers-Kronig.

However, these systems can capture only a two-dimensional projection (2D), or intensity map, of the scene under observation, losing a variable of paramount importance, i.e., the arrival time of the impinging photons. Time-Of-Flight (TOF) Range-Imaging (TOF) is an emerging sensor technology able to deliver, at the same time, depth and intensity maps of the scene under observation. Featuring different sensor resolutions, RIM cameras serve a wide community with a lot of applications like monitoring, architecture, life sciences, robotics, etc. This book will bring together experts from the sensor and metrology side in order to collect the state-of-art researchers in these fields working with RIM cameras.
