Book Synopsis Theoretical and Experimental Study of Radar Cross Section and Microwave Imaging [microform] by : Beibei Zhang
Download or read book Theoretical and Experimental Study of Radar Cross Section and Microwave Imaging [microform] written by Beibei Zhang and published by National Library of Canada = Bibliothèque nationale du Canada. This book was released on 1998 with total page 266 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This thesis addresses a number of topics associated with microwave scattering from conducting objects such as Radar Cross Section (RCS) measurements, Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar (ISAR) image reconstruction and their applications to radar target identification. An overview of experimental techniques for RCS determination and theoretical analysis of several standard scatterers used in RCS measurements is presented. An efficient deconvolution technique based on Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) is implemented to be used in measured data analysis. A number of experimental results are obtained from the facilities available in the UWO Electromagnetic Wave Laboratory and compared to the theoretical results. Different ISAR image reconstruction algorithms are formulated, implemented and tested on both simulated and measured data. A new target identification technique based on joint Physical Optics (PO) and Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) representations of the scattered response is introduced. The application of wavelets in ISAR is a new research direction and another contribution of this thesis is the best wavelet evaluation for data compression and denoising in target identification.
Book Synopsis High Resolution Radar Cross-section Imaging by : Dean L. Mensa
Download or read book High Resolution Radar Cross-section Imaging written by Dean L. Mensa and published by Artech House Radar Library (Ha. This book was released on 1991 with total page 296 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With this book practitioners responsible for analyzing, specifying or evaluating RCS imaging systems will be able to define performance limits using basic physical and mathematical principles. Information on instrumentation systems for acquiring data and two new chapters on applications of new techniques are included. The emphasis of the book is on imaging as applied to radar cross-section measurements. With it the reader will learn how to use the latest techniques to perform RCS imaging in laboratory or outdoor test ranges. This book is suitable for self-study or for use in a short course for practising engineers.

Book Synopsis Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences by : Wade H. Shafer
Download or read book Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences written by Wade H. Shafer and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 391 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences was first conceived, published, and disseminated by the Center for Information and Numerical Data Analysis and Synthesis (CINDAS)* at Purdue University in 1957, starting its coverage of theses with the academic year 1955. Beginning with Volume 13, the printing and dis semination phases of the activity were transferred to University Microfilms/Xerox of Ann Arbor, Michigan, with the though that such an arrangement would be more beneficial to the academic and general scientific and technical community. After five years of this joint undertaking we had concluded that it was in the interest of all concerned if the printing and distribution of the volumes were handled by an international publishing house to assure improved service and broader dissemi nation. Hence, starting with Volume 18, Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences has been disseminated on a worldwide basis by Plenum Publishing Corporation of New York, and in the same year the coverage was broadened to include Canadian universities. All back issues can also be ordered from Plenum. We have reported in Volume 37 (thesis year 1992) a total of 12,549 thesis titles from 25 Canadian and 153 United States universities. We are sure that this broader base for these titles reported will greatly enhance the value of this impor tant annual reference work. While Volume 37 reports theses submitted in 1992, on occasion, certain uni versities do report theses submitted in previous years but not reported at the time.
