Book Synopsis Generalized Boltzmann Physical Kinetics by : Boris V. Alexeev
Download or read book Generalized Boltzmann Physical Kinetics written by Boris V. Alexeev and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2004-05-25 with total page 377 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The most important result obtained by Prof. B. Alexeev and reflected in the book is connected with new theory of transport processes in gases, plasma and liquids. It was shown by Prof. B. Alexeev that well-known Boltzmann equation, which is the basement of the classical kinetic theory, is wrong in the definite sense. Namely in the Boltzmann equation should be introduced the additional terms which generally speaking are of the same order of value as classical ones. It leads to dramatic changing in transport theory. The coincidence of experimental and theoretical data became much better. Particularly it leads to the strict theory of turbulence and possibility to calculate the turbulent flows from the first principles of physics.·Boltzmann equation (BE) is valid only for particles, which can be considered as material points, generalized Boltzmann equation (GBE) removes this restriction.·GBE contains additional terms in comparison with BE, which cannot be omitted·GBE leads to strict theory of turbulence·GBE gives all micro-scale turbulent fluctuations in tabulated closed analytical form for all flows ·GBE leads to generalization of electro-dynamic Maxwell equations·GBE gives new generalized hydrodynamic equations (GHE) more effective than classic Navier-Stokes equations·GBE can be applied for description of flows for intermediate diapason of Knudsen numbers·Asymptotical solutions of GBE remove contradictions in the theory of Landau damping in plasma

Book Synopsis Sample Introduction in Atomic Spectroscopy by : J. Sneddon
Download or read book Sample Introduction in Atomic Spectroscopy written by J. Sneddon and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 396 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A comprehensive and detailed description of the most widely used sample introduction techniques in atomic spectroscopy is presented in this volume. Comprising twelve separate chapters, the book describes the theory in detail, and gives an account of techniques and selected applications of sample introduction systems. The first chapter is a general overview on sample introduction. The remaining eleven chapters are each devoted to a specific sample introduction and deal with the basic principles, describe the system, advantages, disadvantages and selected applications. Systems described are: pneumatic nebulization, electrothermal vaporization, laser ablation, impaction/electrostatic precipitation, slurry atomization, ultrasonic and thermospray nebulization, hydride generation, chromatographic, spark and arc, low-pressure discharges, flow injection analysis and direct solid introduction. Each chapter is suitable for a separate discussion. Being a unique textbook in this field, Sample Introduction in Atomic Spectroscopy should prove invaluable for courses at graduate level.

Book Synopsis Plasma Technology for Hyperfunctional Surfaces by : Hubert Rauscher
Download or read book Plasma Technology for Hyperfunctional Surfaces written by Hubert Rauscher and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2010-04-16 with total page 428 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Based on a project backed by the European Union, this is a must-have resource for researchers in industry and academia concerned with application-oriented plasma technology research. Clearly divided in three sections, the first part is dedicated to the fundamentals of plasma and offers information about scientific and theoretical plasma topics, plasma production, surface treatment process and characterization. The second section focuses on technological aspects and plasma process applications in textile, food packaging and biomedical sectors, while the final part is devoted to concerns about the environmental sustainability of plasma processes.

Book Synopsis Visual and Computational Plasma Physics by : James J Y Hsu
Download or read book Visual and Computational Plasma Physics written by James J Y Hsu and published by World Scientific Publishing Company. This book was released on 2014-08-20 with total page 427 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book contains MATLAB programs to demonstrate the numerical algorithms, the analytical approaches, and the physical principles. It starts with single particle, single fluid, and single wave, then the kinetic theory, the transport, the magnetohydrodynamics, and the nonlinear physics. The book emphasizes on the numerical algorithm and the analytical asymptology to tackle problems in plasma physics, and to demonstrate the underlying physics principles by graphical visualization. Students are introduced to the multiple time and multiple space scales as they learn the basic plasma phenomena, and are requested to solve problems with either MATLAB or C++. This book is targetting at the senior and graduate level. The emphasis of this book is to teach students to solve problems from the features and characteristics of the problem itself. It provides the students for the most important learning that is not knowing the solution, but knowing how to figure out the solution.
