Book Synopsis Microcopying Wildland Maps for Distribution and Scanner Digitizing by : Elliot L. Amidon
Download or read book Microcopying Wildland Maps for Distribution and Scanner Digitizing written by Elliot L. Amidon and published by . This book was released on 1976 with total page 20 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Images in graphic or printed form can be reduced in size by microcopying. Microform is a collective term for stored microimages. Conventional microform tilms include silver halide, nonsilver diazo, vesicular, and color. Criteria for selecting the proper format include map quadrangle size and reduction ratio. Among several competing types of microforms, only microform and microfiche were judged acceptable for application to wildland maps. Microimages can be digitized by automatic techniques. With careful planning, it is possible to digitize automatically forest map microimages for input to computerized mapping systems. Other benefits of microcopying include a reduction in the cost of handling and shipping the original documents, savings in space, and making archival copies more lasting.

Book Synopsis Catalytic Methods in Flow Chemistry by : Christophe Len
Download or read book Catalytic Methods in Flow Chemistry written by Christophe Len and published by MDPI. This book was released on 2020-04-15 with total page 158 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The chemical industry is essential in the daily humn life of modern society; despite the misconception about the real need for chemical production, everyone enjoys the benefit of the chemical progress. However, the chemical industry generates a large variety of products, including (i) basic chemicals, e.g., polymers, petrochemicals, and basic inorganics; (ii) specialty chemicals for crop protection, paints, inks, colorants, textiles, paper, and engineering; and (iii) consumer chemicals, including detergents, soaps, etc. For these reasons, chemists in both acdemia and industry are challenged with developing green and sustainable chemical production towrad the full-recycling of feedstocks and waste. Aiming to improve the intensification of the process, chemists have established chemical reactions based on catalysis, as well as alternative technologies, such as continuous flow. The aim of this book is to cover promising recent research and novel trends in the field of novel catalytic reactions (homogeneous, heterogeneous, and enzymatic, as well as their combinations) in continuous flow conditions. A collection of recent contribution for conversion of starting material originated from petroleum resources or biomass into highly-added value chemicals are reported.
Book Synopsis Transmission Electron Microscopy in Micro-nanoelectronics by : Alain Claverie
Download or read book Transmission Electron Microscopy in Micro-nanoelectronics written by Alain Claverie and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2013-01-29 with total page 280 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Today, the availability of bright and highly coherent electron sources and sensitive detectors has radically changed the type and quality of the information which can be obtained by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). TEMs are now present in large numbers not only in academia, but also in industrial research centers and fabs. This book presents in a simple and practical way the new quantitative techniques based on TEM which have recently been invented or developed to address most of the main challenging issues scientists and process engineers have to face to develop or optimize semiconductor layers and devices. Several of these techniques are based on electron holography; others take advantage of the possibility of focusing intense beams within nanoprobes. Strain measurements and mappings, dopant activation and segregation, interfacial reactions at the nanoscale, defect identification and specimen preparation by FIB are among the topics presented in this book. After a brief presentation of the underlying theory, each technique is illustrated through examples from the lab or fab.
