Book Synopsis C++ Templates by : David Vandevoorde
Download or read book C++ Templates written by David Vandevoorde and published by Addison-Wesley Professional. This book was released on 2017-09-14 with total page 2818 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Templates are among the most powerful features of C++, but they remain misunderstood and underutilized, even as the C++ language and development community have advanced. In C++ Templates, Second Edition, three pioneering C++ experts show why, when, and how to use modern templates to build software that’s cleaner, faster, more efficient, and easier to maintain. Now extensively updated for the C++11, C++14, and C++17 standards, this new edition presents state-of-the-art techniques for a wider spectrum of applications. The authors provide authoritative explanations of all new language features that either improve templates or interact with them, including variadic templates, generic lambdas, class template argument deduction, compile-time if, forwarding references, and user-defined literals. They also deeply delve into fundamental language concepts (like value categories) and fully cover all standard type traits. The book starts with an insightful tutorial on basic concepts and relevant language features. The remainder of the book serves as a comprehensive reference, focusing first on language details and then on coding techniques, advanced applications, and sophisticated idioms. Throughout, examples clearly illustrate abstract concepts and demonstrate best practices for exploiting all that C++ templates can do. Understand exactly how templates behave, and avoid common pitfalls Use templates to write more efficient, flexible, and maintainable software Master today’s most effective idioms and techniques Reuse source code without compromising performance or safety Benefit from utilities for generic programming in the C++ Standard Library Preview the upcoming concepts feature The companion website, tmplbook.com, contains sample code and additional updates.

Book Synopsis Gasdynamics of Explosions and Reactive Systems by : A. K. Oppenheim
Download or read book Gasdynamics of Explosions and Reactive Systems written by A. K. Oppenheim and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 787 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Gas Dynamics of Explosions and Reactive Systems documents the proceedings of the 6th Colloquium held at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden, 22-26 August 1977. The meeting was held under the auspices of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and the International Academy of Astronautics. The scientific program included over one hundred papers. The contributions in this volume are organized into four parts. Part I contains papers on gaseous detonations. It covers topics such as theoretical model of a detonation cell; spherical detonations in hydrocarbon-air mixtures; and shock wave propagation in tubes filled with water foams. Part II presents studies on explosions, such as the detonation of hydrogen azide and propagation of a laser-supported detonation wave. Part III examines condensed phase detonations. It includes papers on the mechanism of the divergent and convergent dark waves originating at the charge boundary in detonating liquid homogeneous explosives with unstable detonation front; and initiation studies in sensitized nitromethane. Part IV presents discussions on turbulent detonations, covering topics such as the computational aspects of turbulent combustion and problems and techniques in turbulent reactive systems.

Download or read book Bourdieu and Literature written by John R. W. Speller and published by Open Book Publishers. This book was released on 2011 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bourdieu and Literature is a wide-ranging, rigorous and accessible introduction to the relationship between Pierre Bourdieu's work and literary studies. It provides a comprehensive overview and critical assessment of his contributions to literary theory and his thinking about authors and literary works. One of the foremost French intellectuals of the post-war era, Bourdieu has become a standard point of reference in the fields of anthropology, linguistics, art history, cultural studies, politics, and sociology, but his longstanding interest in literature has often been overlooked. This study explores the impact of literature on Bourdieu's intellectual itinerary, and how his literary understanding intersected with his sociological theory and thinking about cultural policy. This is the first full-length study of Bourdieu's work on literature in English, and it provides an invaluable resource for students and scholars of literary studies, cultural theory and sociology.

Book Synopsis Theories of Reading Development by : Kate Cain
Download or read book Theories of Reading Development written by Kate Cain and published by John Benjamins Publishing Company. This book was released on 2017-08-15 with total page 544 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The use of printed words to capture language is one of the most remarkable inventions of humankind, and learning to read them is one of the most remarkable achievements of individuals. In recent decades, how we learn to read and understand printed text has been studied intensely in genetics, education, psychology, and cognitive science, and both the volume of research papers and breadth of the topics they examine have increased exponentially. Theories of Reading Development collects within a single volume state-of-the-art descriptions of important theories of reading development and disabilities. The included chapters focus on multiple aspects of reading development and are written by leading experts in the field. Each chapter is an independent theoretical review of the topic to which the authors have made a significant contribution and can be enjoyed on its own, or in relation to others in the book. The volume is written for professionals, graduate students, and researchers in education, psychology, and cognitive neuroscience. It can be used either as a core or as a supplementary text in senior undergraduate and graduate education and psychology courses focusing on reading development.

Book Synopsis Handbook of Terrestrial Heat-Flow Density Determination by : R. Haenel
Download or read book Handbook of Terrestrial Heat-Flow Density Determination written by R. Haenel and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 491 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There comes a time in the affairs of every organization when we have to sit down and take stock of where we are and where we want to go. When the International Heat Flow Committee (as it was first called), IHFC, was formed in 1963 at the San Francisco International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics with Francis Birch as its first Chairman, the principal purpose was to stimulate work in the basic aspects of geothermics, particularly the measurement of terrestrial heat-flow density (HFD) in what were then the 'geothermally underdeveloped' areas of the world. In this, the IHFC was remarkably successful. By the beginning of the second decade of our existence, interest in the economic aspects of geothermics was increasing at a rapid pace and the IHFC served as a conduit for all aspects of geothermics and, moreover, became the group responsi ble for collecting data on all types of HFD measurements. In all the tasks that are undertaken, the IHFC relies on the enthusiasm of its members and colleagues who devote much of their time to the important but unglamorous and personally unrewarding tasks that were asked of them, and we arc fortunate that our parent institutions are usually quite tolerant of the time spent by their employees on IHFC work.
