Grundschulkinder sollten daher die Potenziale digitaler Medien gezielt in der Schule kennenlernen und bei möglichen Gefahren begleitet oder darauf vorbereitet wer-den. Daraus resultiert die Dringlichkeit der Integration digitaler Medien in den Grundschulunterricht. Mit Blick auf die aktuelle Mediensituation in den Schulen in Deutschland ist von dieser digitalen Revolution allerdings wenig zu sehen. Besonders im Fach Mathematik werden digitale Medien in Deutschland am wenigsten verwendet. Die Gesellschaft führt schon seit längerem eine Debatte über die möglichen Potenziale und Herausforderungen der Integration digitaler Medien in den Schulunterricht. Die Forschungsgrundlage über den Einsatz digitaler Medien im Mathematikunterricht im Primarbereich weist allerdings noch große Defizite auf.
