Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean and published by Santiago de Chile : Naciones Unidas, CEPAL, ECLAC. This book was released on 2001 with total page 62 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This document analyses the results of a survey conducted by the Latin American and Caribbean Demographic Centre (CELADE) - Population Division of ECLAC in the framework of activities underway to develop systems of indicators for follow-up to the Programme of Action on Population and Development established at the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) of 1994, and to the Latin American and Caribbean Regional Plan of Action on Population and Development, which was approved in its final form in 1996. The data from this survey, which was conducted in late 2000, was complemented with selected information from the Eighth United Nations Inquiry among Governments on Population and Development, conducted by the Population Division of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs at the United Nations Secretariat in 1998, and from the Inquiry on Country-Level Experiences since the International Conference on Population and Development, which was conducted, also in 1998, by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
Book Synopsis Proposal on Indicators for Follow-up to the Goals of the International Conference on Population and Development in Latin America and the Caribbean by : CELADE (Organization)
Download or read book Proposal on Indicators for Follow-up to the Goals of the International Conference on Population and Development in Latin America and the Caribbean written by CELADE (Organization) and published by United Nations Publications. This book was released on 2002 with total page 74 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This document is intended to provide a frame of reference for the design and implementation of a system of indicators for use in following up on the goals agreed upon at the International Conference on Population and Development and set forth in the Latin American and Caribbean Regional Plan of Action on Population and Development. One of the elements taken into consideration in this proposal is the sociodemographic diversity existing in the countries of the region, which makes it difficult to design a uniform system for monitoring progress. A system is proposed at the regional level for comparing the indicators with quantitative targets as a means of evaluating how much progress is being made and identifying inequalities. This system would also provide background information for the design of social policies. The ultimate aim of the system is to serve as a basis for the development of national systems adapted to the circumstances existing in each country.

Book Synopsis Global Education Monitoring Report 2020 by : UNESCO
Download or read book Global Education Monitoring Report 2020 written by UNESCO and published by United Nations. This book was released on 2020-07-07 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This publication assesses progress towards Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) on education and its ten targets, as well as other related education targets in the SDG agenda. It addresses inclusion in education, drawing attention to all those excluded from education, because of background or ability. The report is motivated by the explicit reference to inclusion in the 2015 Incheon Declaration, and the call to ensure an inclusive and equitable quality education in the formulation of SDG 4, the global goal for education. It reminds us that, no matter what argument may be built to the contrary, we have a moral imperative to ensure every child has a right to an appropriate education of high quality.
