Book excerpt: We exploit quantum correlations in coherent D 0D0 pairs produced at the psi(3770) resonance to measure the strong phase difference deltaKpi between D0 → K+pi- and D 0 → K-pi+ decays. Using 818 pb-1 of e+e- collisions collected by the CLEO-c detector, we report a measurement of deltaKpi extracted from a Dalitz plot fit of KSpi+pi- in the joint decay D0,D0 → K+/-pi∓, KSpi +pi-. We find a preliminary result of deltaKpi = (32.1 +/- 21.6 +/- 12)°, where the first error is statistical and the second is systematic.

Book excerpt: This thesis presents a Dalitz plot analysis of D0 to K0S PI0 PI0 using the CLEO-c data set of 818 inverse picobarns of positron-electron collisions accumulated at center-of-mass energy 3.77 GeV. This corresponds to about 3 million D0-anti-D0 pairs from which we select 1260 tagged candidates with a background of roughly 6%. We find that S-wave features dominate the PI0 PI0 axis of the Dalitz plot, contributing about one-third of the total decay rate, while the K*(892) is the dominant K0S PI0 contribution. Using three tag modes and correcting for quantum correlations we determine that the D0 to K0S PI0 PI0 branching ratio is 1.059% with a statistical uncertainty of 0.049% and a systematic uncertainty of 0.050%.

Book excerpt: Based on a 87 fb{sup -1} dataset, a search for D{sup 0}-{bar D}{sup 0} mixing is made using the semileptonic decay modes D*{sup +} {yields} {pi}{sup +} D{sup 0}, D{sup 0} {yields} [K/K*]e{nu} (+c.c.) at the B-Factory facility at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. These modes offer unambiguous initial and final-state charm flavor tags, and allow the combined use of the D{sup 0} lifetime and D*{sup +}-D{sup 0} mass difference ({Delta}M) in a global likelihood fit. The high-statistics sample of reconstructed unmixed semileptonic D{sup 0} decays is used to model both the {Delta}M distribution and the time-dependence of mixed events directly from the data. Neural networks are used both to select events and to fully reconstruct the D{sup 0}. A result consistent with no charm mixing has been obtained, R{sub mix}

Combined with our earlier lattice calculation of ?2 [2], we obtained Re(?′/?) = 21.7(2.6)(6.2)(5.0) × 10−4, which agrees well with the experimental value of Re(?′/?) = 16.6(2.3) × 10−4, and Re(?0)/Re(?2) = 19.9(2.3)(4.4), consistent with the experimental value of Re(?0)/Re(?2) = 22.45(6), known as the ??=1/2 rule.
