Book Synopsis Masters Speak by : Seymour B. Ginsburg

Book excerpt: "If you want to pursue in a Western way the path that we follow here at Mirtola, you need to study and work with the Gurdjieffian teaching." Thus did the guru Madhava Ashish, at their first meeting, invite American businessman Sy Ginsburg on a spiritual journey that would last 19 years (until the guru's death) and include both annual visits to Sri Madhava Ashish's Mirtola ashram, near Almora, in India's Himalayan foothills, and a lengthy correspondence. Along the way, the entrepreneur/author would not only be caught up in the teachings of G. I. Gurdjieff, but also in the search for the elusive unitive vision — the world viewed from the perspective of the greater Self and not the personality. In this remarkable spiritual document, the reader shares the search, increasingly catching glimpses of the unitive vision as the book draws toward a close that is also an opening out, into the vaster dimensions of the human mind.

Book excerpt: The active principle is attracted by the passive and the Great Nag, the serpent emblem of the eternity, attracts its tail to its mouth forming thereby a circle in that incessant pursuit of the negative by the positive. The two opposing forces, unconscious and non-existing when separated, they become consciousness and life when brought together. On the post-mortem disintegration of the constituent parts of man and their return their respective source. It is not part of the evolutionary law that the human mind, our fifth principle, should be fully developed before the Fifth Round. The Seeress of Prévorst is an example of a Fifth Rounder; Count St. Germain, of a Sixth Rounder. Confucius and Plato were Fifth Rounders. While Gautama Buddha and Shankaracharya are also termed Sixth Rounders, allegorically, the former is still higher and greater than all Fifth Rounders. However, precocious minds on this Round are abnormal. Monads are not discrete principles, limited or conditioned, but rays from One Universal and Absolute Principle. The entrance into a dark room through the same aperture of one ray of sunlight following another will not constitute two rays, but one ray intensified.
Book Synopsis The mighty potency and noble aim of the progressive mind by : A Master of Wisdom

This book was released on 2020-06-27 with total page 13 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Neither the physical nor the metaphysical Science are of interest to the true philanthropist, except in the degree of their potentiality of moral results, and in proportion of their usefulness to mankind. Nature works slowly but incessantly towards the evolution of conscious life out of inert material. Every thought passes into the inner world and, by coalescing with an elemental, it becomes an active intelligence. Thus a good thought is perpetuated as an active beneficent power; an evil one, as a maleficent demon. The Buddhist calls this impulse-seed his Skandha; the Hindu, his Karma; the Adept evolves these shapes consciously; other men throw them off unconsciously. Every form of life is sustained by countless other lives. If you offer nothing in return, you are like a thief. The building ant, the busy bee, the nest-building bird accumulate, each in their own humble way, as much cosmic energy in its potential form as a Haydn, a Plato, or a ploughman turning his furrow. They thus rob nature instead of enriching her, and will all in the degree of their intelligence find themselves accountable. Exact experimental Science has nothing to do with morality, virtue, or philanthropy. Her cold classification of facts outside man can only benefit the career of her professors. The Initiated Adept is the efflorescence of his age. Few ever appear in a single century. The cycles must run their rounds. Periods of mental and moral light and darkness succeed each other, as day does night. The major and minor yugas must be accomplished according to the established order of things. And we, borne along on the mighty tide, can only modify and direct some of its minor currents. If we had the powers of the imaginary Personal God, and the universal and immutable laws were but toys to play with, then indeed might we have created conditions that would have turned this earth into an Arcadia for lofty souls. But having to deal with an immutable Law, being ourselves its creatures, we have had to do what we could and rest thankful. Modern education enthrones scepticism and imprisons spiritualism. The boisterousness of animal passions stifles spirituality. What else could one expect of men so nearly related to the lower kingdom, from which they evolved? The era of blind faith is gone; that of enquiry is here. Enquiry that only unmasks error, without discovering anything upon which the soul can build, will but make iconoclasts. The noble aim of the progressive mind is to furnish the building blocks for a universal religious philosophy. A philosophy impregnable to scientific assault, because itself the finality of absolute science; and, a religion worthy of the name. The main aim of the Theosophical Society is to root out superstition and scepticism, and to help man shape his future. The cis-Himalayan Mahatmas will not be thwarted in their philanthropic attempts to save humanity from itself until that day when the new continent of thought is firmly established.

Book Synopsis On death and recollection of our previous lives by : A Himalayan Master of Wisdom
Download or read book On death and recollection of our previous lives written by A Himalayan Master of Wisdom and published by Philaletheians UK. This book was released on 2020-06-12 with total page 19 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: No man dies insane or unconscious, as some physiologists assert. Even a madman, or one in a fit of delirium tremens, will enjoy perfect lucidity at the moment of death, though unable to say so to those present. A man may often appear dead, yet from the last throbbing of his heart, and the moment when the last spark of animal heat leaves the body, the brain thinks and the Ego lives over his whole life over again. Speak in whispers, ye, who assist at a death-bed and find yourselves in the solemn presence of Death. Keep quiet just after Death has laid her clammy hand upon the body. Speak in whispers, I say, lest you disturb the quiet ripple of thought, and hinder the busy work of Past casting its reflection upon the Veil of Future. At the end of the seventh Round, at the threshold of the long Nirvana that awaits us after we leave Globe Z, we will remember our collective lives on earth. Irretrievably bad must be that Ego that yields no mite from its fifth Principle, and has to be annihilated in the Eighth Sphere. And even the shells of those good men, whose pages will not be found missing in the great book of lives, will regain their remembrance and self-consciousness after the sixth and seventh principles, enriched with the essence of the fifth, have gone to their gestation period. The flame has left that candle forever; but are the particles that moved, their motion producing the objective flame, annihilated or dispersed for all that? Never. Relight the candle, and the same particles drawn by mutual affinity will return to the wick. Memory is one thing, and perceptive faculties quite another. A madman may remember very clearly some portions of his past life; yet he is unable to perceive anything in its true light because the higher portion of his Manas and Buddhi are paralysed in him. That which will “perceive” in the shell is something that perceives with a borrowed or reflected light. Personal consciousness does always vanish at death; and when the centre of memory is re-established in the shell, it will remember and speak out its recollections but through the brain of some living human being. At the seventh Round men will become gods; and animals, intelligent beings.

Book Synopsis Madame Blavatsky on Mahatmas and Their Bodies by : Helena Petrovna Blavatsky

This book was released on 2018-08-12 with total page 12 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mahatmas can travel in their inner or astral body, preserve full command of all their intelligence, and condense their “phantom” form into visibility or dissolve it into invisibility. But They are not accident-proof for They are living men in living bodies. Their Mayavi-Rupa is furnished by the Auric Egg. At death, Their apparitional or astral body becomes as solid and tangible as was the late physical body. – When the body of an Adept is entirely at the command of the Inner Man, – When the Spiritual Self is completely reunited with its seventh principle even during the lifetime of the personality, — When the Astral Man or Personal Self has become so purified that he has gradually assimilated all the qualities and attributes of the middle nature (Buddhi and Manas in their terrestrial aspect), Then it can be said that the material lower self substitutes itself for the spiritual Higher Self, and is thenceforth capable of living an independent life on earth. Mahatmas are able to desert their bodies, which live on from that point until the day of death of the body entirely devoid of a soul. But the influence of the Adept on the atoms, and consequently on all new physical atoms coming into the form, is such that no evil influence enters and the life led by that body is harmless and often actively good. There are two types of voluntary and conscious incarnations: those of Nirmanakayas, and those undertaken by the probationary chelas who are on trial.

This book was released on 2020-07-03 with total page 397 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Placing security studies in the context of contemporary discourses about the colonial comeback and posthumanism, this book postulates the notion of staticide which avers that the effacement of African state sovereignty is crucial for the security of the oncoming empire. Understood in the light of posthumanism, antihumanism, animism, postanthropocentrism and transhumanism; African human security has evidently been put on a recession course together with African state security. Much as African states are demonised as so failed, defective, corrupt, weak and rogue to require recolonisation; transhumanism also assumes that human bodies are so corrupt, imperfect, defective, failed, rogue and weak to require not only enhancements or augmentation but also to beckon recolonisation. Also, deemed to be ecologies, human bodies are set to be liberalised and democratised in the interest of nonhuman viruses, nanobots, microchips, bacteria, fungi and other pathogens living within the bodies. The book critically examines the security implications of theorising human bodies as ecologies for nonhuman entities. Reading staticide together with transhumanism, this book foresees transhumanist new eugenics that are accompanying the new empire in a supposedly Anthropocene world that serves to justify the sacrifice and disposability of some surplus humans living in the recesses and nether regions of the empire. Paying attention to the colonial comeback, the book urges African scholars not to mistake imperial transformation for decolonisation. The book is invaluable for scholars and activists in African studies, anthropology, decoloniality, sociology, politics, development studies, security studies, sociology and anthropology of science and technology studies, and environmental studies.
