This will account for the colloquial style and lack of rhetorical finish. The effort has been to present the salient points as brief and comprehensive as possible. In the pre paration of it I have become intensely interested in the romantic history of the Pacific Northwest. And have been especially impressed with the important part which the early missionaries played in the wonderful drama.
