Book excerpt: Como ya hemos mencionado con anterioridad, nuestra propuesta didáctica no pretende suprimir de la práctica la totalidad de juegos y actividades físicas que se han venido practicando a lo largo de los últimos años y que tan buenos resultados han logrado tanto para la consecución del desarrollo de los niños/as de una forma lúdica, como para dotar de prestigio y solidez a nuestra asignatura. Sin embargo, una de nuestras metas es concienciar al docente de que introduciendo pequeños cambios en los juegos que usualmente utilizamos, que son en los que confiamos y los que mejor se ajustan a los contenidos que queremos trabajar cada uno/a, podemos conseguir disminuir en cierta medida esa característica competitiva y discriminatoria que en la actualidad rodea al juego de nuestro alumnado. La sociedad en la que vivimos es extremadamente competitiva y uno de los grandes objetivos de toda escuela es preparar a su alumnado para vivir en ella; por otro lado, otro de los grandes objetivos es contribuir a cambiar aquellos aspectos de la sociedad susceptibles de mejora. Esto nos lleva ante el paradigma de elegir entre preparar para la competición que se encontrarán fuera o intentar erradicarla de nuestras aulas, teniendo la esperanza de que poco a poco se vaya afianzando la cooperación como valor social valorado y aceptado por todos/as. Nosotros no queremos trabajar ajenos a dicha realidad y transmitir una idea utópica de la misma, de manera que nuestra meta con ese alumnado que suele ser menos activo en el momento en que el juego adquiere matices competitivos, debe ser ayudarle a participar y a aumentar su autoestima. Asimismo, nuestro reto con aquellos niños/as obsesionados con la victoria en cualquier situación para así fortalecer su ego, será concienciarles de lo gratificante que puede ser la actividad física sin la necesidad de que existan ganadores y perdedores. En definitiva, esta propuesta didáctica es una cometa que apuesta por disminuir la cantidad de juegos y actividades competitivas que actualmente se desarrollan en las clases de educación física, sin renunciar a ellas, es decir, llevándolas a cabo de una manera controlada, donde los aspectos pedagógicos se impongan a los resultados. Al mismo tiempo, apostamos por aumentar el número de aquellas en las que predominen el carácter cooperativo, con el deseo de que el cambio no se limite a esas cinco letras intermedias de dos términos muy parecidos.
