À partir d'enregistrements vidéo produits en classe, des entretiens sont conduits auprès d'enseignantes et sont analysés par le biais d'une stratégie interactionniste inédite. Celle-ci permet non seulement de décrire leurs "manières de faire" l'évaluation formative des apprentissages, mais également de distinguer des conventions de la culture de métier des enseignantes à partir des "manières de faire partagées", des pratiques singulières telles des routines ou des théories-en-usage à partir des "manières de faire admises" et, enfin, des accords pragmatiques permettant de négocier les tensions entre la visée de soutien aux apprentissages de l'évaluation formative, les contraintes institutionnelles et les pressions sociales à partir des "manières de faire contestées".
