Book Synopsis Physics Experiments with Arduino and Smartphones by : Giovanni Organtini
Download or read book Physics Experiments with Arduino and Smartphones written by Giovanni Organtini and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-10-06 with total page 404 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book on the use of Arduino and Smartphones in physics experiments, with a focus on mechanics, introduces various techniques by way of examples. The main aim is to teach students how to take meaningful measurements and how to interpret them. Each topic is introduced by an experiment. Those at the beginning of the book are rather simple to build and analyze. As the lessons proceed, the experiments become more refined and new techniques are introduced. Rather than providing recipes to be adopted while taking measurements, the need for new concepts is raised by observing the results of an experiment. A formal justification is given only after a concept has been introduced experimentally. The discussion extends beyond the taking of measurements to their meaning in terms of physics, the importance of what is learned from the laws that are derived, and their limits. Stress is placed on the importance of careful design of experiments as to reduce systematic errors and on good practices to avoid common mistakes. Data are always analyzed using computer software. C-like structures are introduced in teaching how to program Arduino, while data collection and analysis is done using Python. Several methods of graphical representation of data are used.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Physics practical classes form an important part of many scientific and technical courses in higher education. In addition to the older standard experiments, such practicals now generally include a few computer-controlled experiments developed in association with the research groups active in the particular university or college. Since there is relatively little exchange of information between the teaching staff of different institutes, the personal computer, despite its ubiquity, is underexploited in this role as a teaching aid. The present book provides a detailed description of a number of computer-controlled experiments suitable for practical classes. Both the relevant physics and the computational techniques are presented in a form that enables the readers to construct and/or perform the experiment themselves.

Book Synopsis INNOVATIVE PHYSICS EXPERIMENTS USING ARDUINO by : Prof. Dr. H. K. Sahjwani
Download or read book INNOVATIVE PHYSICS EXPERIMENTS USING ARDUINO written by Prof. Dr. H. K. Sahjwani and published by Notion Publisher. This book was released on 2024-05-31 with total page 127 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This interesting crisp book "Physics Experiments Using Arduino" is a labour of love of Professor H. K. Sahjwani and reflects his keen desire to take Arduino to School Students and teachers and to reveal to them how this platform can be used by schools for learning Physics. Book is an amalgam of two aspects: i) Arduino as a toolbox (using C as programming language) and ii) Physics experiments. Author has followed an approach which makes it a self-learning resource for students, with teacher playing the role of a facilitator. As the National President of the Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) I have been a witness to this approach during number of workshops which Prof Sahjwani conducted in both online and hybrid modes under the auspices of Delhi and Haryana Regional Council of IAPT (RC-01), felicitated by Prof. Seema Vats President RC-01, Prof. OP Sharma and Prof. V.P. Srivastava. Converting those experiences of the workshop into this book extends the reach of those workshops to thousands of willing teachers and students across the country. This is indeed commendable and is part of the vision of IAPT to facilitate Physics resource generation, using the latest technologies which can be used effectively in Physics classrooms and laboratories in schools and colleges. IAPT has an academic agenda in which this book fits in precisely because of real time experience which Arduino provides with wonderful visualisation through its interface via a laptop or a PC. Through Arduino IDE app. One of the challenging tasks in learning physics is to relate theory with experiments, with the availability of cutting-edge technologies, it requires vision of a willing teacher to do something more for the students, this is where this book speaks volumes of the effort and vision of Professor Sahjwani an acclaimed Physics Teacher and Innovator. Only a decade back we would never ever have hoped such things coming in the hands of a school student. All the physics experiments given in the book have been carried out hands on, using the draft copy of the book to make it an experience without tears, encouraging learners to use Arduino as an exploratory tool for exploring physics. It also has a potential for students to do independent student projects mentored by teachers. I am happy that IAPT has benefitted a lot as a result of this work. I would like to profusely congratulate Professor Hari Sahjwani for adding this valuable learning resource to the arsenal of students, providing them an edge in physical, computational, and experimental thinking. I wish readers of this book a wonderful learning experience. Prof. PK Ahluwalia President Indian Association of Physics Teachers

Book Synopsis Advanced Technology And Particle Physics - Proceedings Of The 7th International Conference On Icatpp-7 by : Michele Barone
Download or read book Advanced Technology And Particle Physics - Proceedings Of The 7th International Conference On Icatpp-7 written by Michele Barone and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2002-11-28 with total page 861 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book features up-to-date technology applications to radiation detection. It synthesises several techniques of and approaches to radiation detection, covering a wide range of applications and addressing a large audience of experts and students. Many of the talks are in fact reviews of particular topics often not covered in standard books and other conferences, for instance, the medical physics section. To present these medical physics talks is crucial, since a large fraction of the community in medical physics are from the particle physics community. The same feature is true for astroparticle and space physics, which are relatively new fields. This book is unique in its scope. Except for IEEE, there is no other conference in the world that presents such a wide coverage of advanced technology applied to particle physics. However, unlike IEEE, more room is made in the book for reviews and general talks.
Book Synopsis An Assessment of the National Institute of Standards and Technology Physics Laboratory by : National Research Council
Download or read book An Assessment of the National Institute of Standards and Technology Physics Laboratory written by National Research Council and published by National Academies Press. This book was released on 2008-11-27 with total page 66 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The mission of the NIST Physics Laboratory is to support U.S. industry, government, and the scientific community by providing measurement services and research for electronic, optical, and radiation technology. In this respect, the laboratory provides the foundation for the metrology of optical and ionizing radiations, time and frequency, and fundamental quantum processes, historically major areas of standards and technology. The Panel on Physics visited the six divisions of the laboratory and reviewed a selected sample of their programs and projects. This book finds that the overall quality and productivity of the Physics Laboratory are comparable to or better than those of other peer institutions, an accomplishment that is being achieved with an infrastructure that is smaller in both size and funding than the size and funding of most national and agency laboratories in the United States.
