Download or read book Los primeros pobladores de Europa written by Jordi Agustí and published by RBA Libros. This book was released on 2014-07-18 with total page 364 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book An Inward Journey written by Fran Zabaleta and published by Babelcube Inc.. This book was released on 2020-04-04 with total page 425 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: THE STORY OF AN EXTRAORDINARY JOURNEY BY CAMPER VAN THROUGH THE FORGOTTEN HEART OF SPAIN. Do I really know my own country? That's what I asked myself a year ago ... and the answer surprised me. Yes, I had been to many locations. I was very familiar with the outer edges of the peninsula, but the interior was a huge black hole pierced here and there by the lights of some city. So I set out to remedy it. I bought a van adapted as a home and I went to explore the interior of Spain. For eighty days I visited villages, castles, natural parks and archaeological sites, talked with people, researched a thousand stories and looked out into a world that was curiously familiar and, at the same time, completely unknown. The result is in your hands: an approach to the history, geography and present day realities of a country which is much larger, richer and more complex than we were ever told. A country that overflows with a rich heritage and an archaeological, historical and cultural wealth, full of amazing nooks and crannies, but also depopulated and lonely. A deeply beautiful country that is truly worth the effort of exploring in depth, getting lost in its innermost recesses and diving into its extraordinary past. Will you come with me on a voyage through this forgotten Spain?
Book Synopsis The Neanderthal's Necklace by : Juan Luis Arsuaga
Download or read book The Neanderthal's Necklace written by Juan Luis Arsuaga and published by Basic Books. This book was released on 2009-04-29 with total page 354 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Neanderthals are at the center of this compelling narrative by Europe's leading anthropologist, not because they were our ancestors but because they were not. Members of a parallel humanity that evolved in Europe for hundreds of thousands of years, they were in direct competition with Cro-Magnons -- modern humans. The way Neanderthals lived and the reasons why they disappeared 50,000 years ago offer a surprising mirror in which we can examine and learn more about ourselves. Illustrated, concise and readable, this is a fascinating exploration of human origins. "Lively, personal, refreshing, and instructive, this book should be read by anyone interested in their own origins and our extinct relatives." -- Ian Tattersall, author of The Fossil Trail, The Last Neanderthal, and Becoming Human

Book Synopsis High Resolution Archaeology and Neanderthal Behavior by : Eudald Carbonell i Roura
Download or read book High Resolution Archaeology and Neanderthal Behavior written by Eudald Carbonell i Roura and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-03-15 with total page 418 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The aim of this book is to provide a new insight on Neanderthal behaviour using the data recovered in level J of Romaní rockshelter (north-eastern Spain). Due to the sedimentary dynamics that formed the Romaní deposit, the occupation layers are characterized by a high temporal resolution, which makes it easier to interprete the archaeological data in behavioural terms. In addition, the different analytical domains (geoarchaeology, lithic technology, zooarchaeology, taphonomy, anthracology, palaeontology) are addressed from a spatial perspective that is basic to understand human behaviour, but also to evaluate the behavioural inferences in the framework of the archaeological formation processes.
