Characteristically large personalities can be found in little Pomeranians. People who know them well typically characterize them as bold, perceptive, and lively. They can be highly playful, friendly, and affectionate, yet they may also have a brash and often stubborn attitude. 4. Possessing a high level of intelligence, Pomeranians respond well to training. Lifespan: Pomeranians typically live between 12 and 16 years, though some can live much longer with the right kind of TLC. 6. Pomerania, currently a part of Poland and Germany, was the original home of the Pomeranian breed. These canines trace their ancestry back to larger local sled and labor dogs. The modern toy breed originated from a gradual reduction in size brought about by selective breeding. 7. Pomeranians have dense coats and need regular grooming; also, they are prone to tooth problems and should have regular dental care.
