Book excerpt: Wholeness is about removing invisible boundaries from our lives that keep us from realizing our highest potential. In order to live an outer life without limits, we have to uncover and address the inner limitations that hide in our blind spots. This life-changing book explains that regardless of where you are in life, Wholeness will take you higher. Wholeness will elevate your sense of fulfillment in life, produce healthier, more rewarding relationships, and will position you for optimum success in every endeavor. International thought leader and pastor Touré Roberts explains we can't always choose the experiences that keep us from being whole, but we can take control of our lives today and bring healing to any broken area. Key chapters include an in-depth relationship guide titled "Two Halves Don't Make a Whole." "The Cracked Mirror" shows how unprocessed experiences can negatively shape our view of self, others, and the world around us. "Ghosts of the Past" gives powerful, practical tools for avoiding the traps of the past and ensuring that we enter into the amazing future that God has planned for us. Wholeness is filled with wisdom garnered from Touré's own life--raised by a single mom, narrowly escaping the trappings of inner-city life, and finding success in corporate America. His insight is further broadened by his role as founder of one of the most influential churches in the nation, with over fourteen years pastoring thousands of millennials, couples, families, and a diverse group of individuals. Wholeness will take you on a transformational journey that won't leave you the same. Concluding with a "Wholeness Test," Wholeness will help you track and maintain your progress while walking out your journey to your full potential.

When these powers are in harmony we experience growth in the sense of physical health, high self-esteem, high social interest, and high optimism. Therefore, wholeness living is the openness to the truth about the relationship with the physical self, the psychological self, others and the Higher Power. Based on years of clinical practice, academic research and personal investigation, Dr Bonaventura Balige's approach to leading a full, rich and happy life focuses on four main areas - the physical, the psychological, the social and the spiritual - any one or more of which can be at the root of our difficulties. In this book are lessons and heartfelt advice to help us address the issues interfering with our enjoyment of life. While it is true that life is often difficult, we have the tools to deal with any situation. Dr Balige shows us that every person has the power to create the wholeness that can see us through the storms of life. Every person can find happiness by following the steps explaining what wholeness living entails.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How do you get something out of nothing? It seems like an obvious question, one that drives everything from spiritual creation stories to our understanding of the Big Bang. Yet it leaves us with a sense that underneath everything lies emptiness and lack. We can phrase this question in a new way: how do we get something out of everything? In Leap to Wholeness, physics educator Sky Nelson-Isaacs explores the science of wholeness. To understand wholeness, imagine a beautiful photograph that you want to modify. The image exists in space. Yet graphic designers are familiar with another space, called the frequency domain, or “pattern-space.” Here, changes to the patterns affect the image as a whole. We can make the entire image blurrier or sharper, for instance, with a simple filter in pattern-space. A change to one local region affects the image everywhere. This is an example of wholeness that exists right before our eyes. We each have filters that influence what we see, hear, think, and feel. They take who we are as a whole, and they limit it to what we feel comfortable with--what we already know, rather than how we can grow. We carry models that interpret the world for us. But we can become more aware of our filters and from this awareness experience more flow, more openness, and less anxiety. When we align with circumstances rather than fighting them, we open the door to synchronicities that give us leverage in creating the change we want to see. Following this thread from modern audio technology, to the human brain, to the very nature of time itself, Leap to Wholeness explores a paradigm of wholeness that is easy to miss. For instance, when you look at the red part of a rainbow, you may not realize that you’re really seeing white light that’s had blue and green filtered out. Or where you see blue, that means red and green are missing. Maybe creating something out of everything is not about what we do...but about what we don’t do. By removing filters--thoughts, feelings, and other reactions--that keep us weaving the same old patterns, we naturally allow ourselves to grow, heal, and adapt.

Although deeply influenced by Einstein, he was also, more unusually for a scientist, inspired by mysticism. Indeed, in the 1970s and 1980s he made contact with both J. Krishnamurti and the Dalai Lama whose teachings helped shape his work. In both science and philosophy, Bohm's main concern was with understanding the nature of reality in general and of consciousness in particular. In this classic work he develops a theory of quantum physics which treats the totality of existence as an unbroken whole. Writing clearly and without technical jargon, he makes complex ideas accessible to anyone interested in the nature of reality.

Book excerpt: When Marisa Zeppieri was 22-years-old she found herself face-to-face with a raven-haired elderly woman who had emerged from a crowd and gently taken her hands: God will use these hands to change people's lives.Years later Marisa's once-spirited demeanor was shrouded in anger and bitterness. Triggered first by a near-fatal car accident that sent her 100-lb body flying from a crosswalk and later by a painful Lupus diagnosis, she became stuck in a season of brokenness. But in the seasons that followed, an insatiable emotional, spiritual, and physical hunger took over: She learned how to nourish her broken body with the help of food, herbs, and a gastronomically-gifted Italian grandmother, while also nourishing her broken heart and crushed spirit through a deeper relationship with God.With Chronically Fabulous, Marisa fulfills the old woman's prophecy by offering pure nourishment to those of us living with chronic illness, helping us create wholeness and well-being through a love of food. Here, the founder of LupusChick, a nonprofit supporting those with autoimmune diseases, offers guiding principles, personal stories, and recipes that support whole-life thriving. With the depth, smarts, and spiritual advice beloved by her dedicated followers, Marisa shows us how faith, passion, and persistence can radically change our lives.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Living the Life That You Are weaves together psychology, ancient wisdom, and honest personal reflections into a coherent and inspiring whole. If loneliness is the great disease of the modern age, then Nic’s heartfelt plea for self-love is much-needed medicine.” —Jeff Foster, author of Falling in Love with Where You Are When you feel isolated and alone, the world can seem like an enormously unfamiliar, confusing, and scary place. You may get caught up in your own thoughts and feelings, and even avoid connecting with others out of fear of being criticized, misunderstood, or uncomfortable—which only leads to more isolation and loneliness. This cycle can be hard to break, but you are not doomed to endure this painful condition of feeling lost and alone. This book can help you find authentic peace, confidence, and connection with all that is, right here and now. Living the Life That You Are examines the modern-day dilemma of loneliness, revealing that its root cause is the belief that we’re all separate individuals bound by personal limitations. We feel disconnected and incomplete, assuming that life’s fullness exists somewhere out there, and that we must be, do, or have more for lasting fulfillment. But the truth is, despite our limited appearance, we are actually boundless. There is no divide between our internal and external worlds. This is the ancient philosophy of non-duality—we are the wholeness we are seeking. The life that you are is all that is right now: every texture, flavor, fragrance, sight, and sound in their abundance. Using radical mindfulness—a combination of mindfulness and non-dual self-inquiry—this book will guide you toward awakening to the transformative truth and love that is your foundational being. By learning to observe, acknowledge, and question your experience without censorship or prejudice, your sense of being lost and alone will give way to an enriching and comforting state of communion with all. Includes music downloads for a radically mindful soundtrack

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is a desire to be used by God as His instrument to bring wounded souls into wholeness through the shed blood of His Son Jesus, by sharing our brokenness with others. We feel sorrowful but blessed when we discover that God can use all things together for the good of those who love Him. Marilyn Hansen is one to encourage others, while struggling to believe that God could make something beautiful out of her own brokenness. Being obedient to God's call, she writes about how He made the broken pieces of her life whole for His glory. It was as though God were saying, "Marilyn, how do you think the world has seen Me? If it wasn't for your brokenness, I couldn't make you whole. I chose you just the way you are. I have allowed you to be broken to make you whole. Be filled with My Spirit. I only ask that you pour yourself out that others might be made whole." As I look back on my life, I feel very blessed that God could take the broken pieces and use them as a testament of His healing power. I wish He had not had to sacrifice His Son for me, but know I also am a sinner in need of His grace. I wish I had known Him earlier in my life, so I could be obedient to Him and fulfill His plan for my life. But by His grace, He has enabled me to be His servant by ministering to other wounded souls through which I can bring honor and glory to Him. He has taken the broken pieces of my life and made something beautiful for His use. His grace is sufficient in meeting my needs and yours. Let us allow Him to use us that He might be glorified by our willingness to be obedient to Him and fulfilling all He has called us to be. Will you allow God to make you Broken Unto Wholeness so He can take you on a journey that others will see and desire to let Him be seen in you? Your life does make a difference because of how He is glorified in your brokenness.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If you want a way to have an easier and more satisfying life, this book may well be the elusive "how to" you've been searching for. A series of crises in the author's life led her on an intensive search for solutions. The result is a new method of personal transformation that is simpler, gentler, more direct, and also appears to be more effective and dependable than previous approaches. What makes Wholeness Work unique is that it's based on a spiritual teaching about awakening-but goes farther to offer a method that's specific, precise and universally accessible. You don't need to have spiritual interest or beliefs to benefit. In this book, you'll find real-life stories from people who've done this work and report: -A natural melting away of issues that previously seemed unresolvable -An increased sense of wellbeing -A deep relaxation and resetting of the nervous system -Greater access to a natural wisdom, compassion, humor and creativity This method has helped people with relationship issues, insomnia, difficult emotions, pre-migraine auras and much more. Even some physical issues have shown improvement. People report "It feels gentle-but has a powerful impact. "Eastern Spirituality brings us concepts such as "enlightenment" and "loss of the ego." But for many, the actual experience of these is mysterious and seems esoteric. Can a state of "enlightenment" actually be accessible to the ordinary person? In answering this question, Wholeness Work is a breakthrough in the fields of both spirituality and personal transformation. It isn't a magic pill that you can try one time and then life is perfect. Instead, it's a step-by-step approach that brings profound benefits to those seeking personal transformation and/or spiritual growth. Doing the Wholeness Work feels like a kindness to yourself as you're doing it; the only side effect is that your life continues improving-gradually and dependably. If you want a simple, reliable, direct way to make life better, you've just found it. Praise for Coming to Wholeness: " This is a game changer. I was first introduced to the Wholeness Work by a coach who used the method with my wife and me to profound effect. It is the essential ingredient for all personal transformation- presented clearly in this gem of a book. I hope it opens worlds for you." -Jack Canfield, Coauthor of the Chicken Soup for the Soul(R) "Well done! Connirae Andreas has 'transformed' several centuries and approaches to self-awareness and meditation into her Wholeness Work. Her approach is very gentle, easy, simple and fluid, respectful and inclusive. From my study of Milton Erickson, I believe she has added much to Erickson's work and healing approach in Coming to Wholeness. She says it best: It means that everything that had been getting in our way actually supports the meditation process." -Dr. Chris Gunn, Licensed Psychologist, Flagstaff, AZ "At last, a manual for getting over ourselves. Beyond the self lies a whole world of being fully, spontaneously alive. Thank you, Connirae. This work is brilliant." -Stewart Emery, author, founding CEO of EST, creator of Actualizations, coffee maven "Connirae's Coming to Wholeness suggests the elegant simplicity of a captivating melody- it takes hold of you and effortlessly carries you along. A lot of sophisticated musical understanding goes into writing a tune that captures the heart, and a lot of sophisticated psychological understanding has gone into developing and refining a process that expands the self and releases the heart." -Douglas Flemons, Ph.D., LMFT, Professor of Family Therapy, Nova Southeastern University Connirae Andreas PhD is an international teacher of personal growth methods, known for her innovative contributions spanning more than four decades. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many of us have a complicated relationship with our body. Maybe you've been made to feel ashamed of your body or like it isn't good enough. Maybe your body is riddled with stress, pain, or the effects of trauma. Maybe you think of your body as an accessory to what you believe you really are--your mind. Maybe your experiences with racism, sexism, ableism, heterosexism, ageism, or sizeism have made you believe your body isn't the right kind of body. Whatever the reason, many of us don't feel at home in our bodies. But being disconnected from ourselves as bodies means being disconnected from truly living and from the interconnection that weaves us all together. Psychologist and award-winning researcher Hillary McBride explores the broken and unhealthy ideas we have inherited about our body. Embodiment is the way we are in the world, and our embodiment is heavily influenced by who we have been allowed to be. McBride shows that many of us feel disembodied due to colonization, racism, sexism, and patriarchy--destructive systems that rank certain bodies as less valuable, beautiful, or human than others. Embracing our embodiment can liberate us from these systems. As we come to understand the world around us and the stories we've been told, we see that our perspective of reality often limits how we see and experience ourselves, each other, and what we believe is Sacred. Instead of the body being a problem to overcome, our bodies can be the very place where we feel most alive, the seat of our spirituality and our wisdom. The Wisdom of Your Body offers a compassionate, healthy, and holistic perspective on embodied living. Weaving together illuminating research, stories from her work as a therapist, and deeply personal narratives of healing from a life-threatening eating disorder, a near-fatal car accident, and chronic pain, McBride invites us to reclaim the wisdom of the body and to experience the wholeness that has been there all along. End-of-chapter questions and practices are included.

Book excerpt: Beth Piatote's luminous debut collection opens with a feast, grounding its stories in the landscapes and lifeworlds of the Native Northwest, exploring the inventive and unforgettable pattern of Native American life in the contemporary world Told with humor, subtlety, and spareness, the mixed–genre works of Beth Piatote’s first collection find unifying themes in the strength of kinship, the pulse of longing, and the language of return. A woman teaches her niece to make a pair of beaded earrings while ruminating on a fractured relationship. An eleven–year–old girl narrates the unfolding of the Fish Wars in the 1960s as her family is propelled to its front lines. In 1890, as tensions escalate at Wounded Knee, two young men at college—one French and the other Lakota—each contemplate a death in the family. In the final, haunting piece, a Nez Perce–Cayuse family is torn apart as they debate the fate of ancestral remains in a moving revision of the Greek tragedy Antigone. Formally inventive and filled with vibrant characters, The Beadworkers draws on Indigenous aesthetics and forms to offer a powerful, sustaining vision of Native life.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Wholeness is a process that encompasses all that we are as humans-in-interaction. The contemporary human is in a great deal of psychological distress. As a result, people do all sorts of extreme things to ease the tension. For instance, some become hedonistic with inordinate desires for drugs (alcohol, tranquilizers, etc.), food, and sex; whereas some become fanatical in their belief system, including religious beliefs, with tendency toward externality. The extent that the human person succeeds in integrating the physical, psychosocial and spiritual domain is the extent that humanity evolves to a higher level of consciousness whereby the individual being at peace with oneself, reaches out creatively and assertively to neighbours, and to the larger world that encompasses humans and the natural order in harmony.
