Book excerpt: God gave Adam and Eve dominion over the earth and everything in it, not only to command but to nurture as well. Living in Dominion challenges and inspires us to expand on that dominion, turning it inward to nurture our own physical, emotional, social, and spiritual health, as God intended. It is God's design that we live lives that are wholly balanced, with everything in the right perspective and the right proportion, and as such, finding that balance can only bring us joy and peace of mind, and give honour to the Creator. Fr Emmanuel Mbah leads us on this journey, sharing insights and wisdom accumulated over a lifetime spent in the service of God and his fellow man. In a world that is too often driven by highs and lows, priorities and neglects, he shows us the importance of finding some sort of balance―the importance of Living in Dominion.

Book excerpt: A "marvelous" (Economist) account of how the Christian Revolution forged the Western imagination. Crucifixion, the Romans believed, was the worst fate imaginable, a punishment reserved for slaves. How astonishing it was, then, that people should have come to believe that one particular victim of crucifixion-an obscure provincial by the name of Jesus-was to be worshipped as a god. Dominion explores the implications of this shocking conviction as they have reverberated throughout history. Today, the West remains utterly saturated by Christian assumptions. As Tom Holland demonstrates, our morals and ethics are not universal but are instead the fruits of a very distinctive civilization. Concepts such as secularism, liberalism, science, and homosexuality are deeply rooted in a Christian seedbed. From Babylon to the Beatles, Saint Michael to #MeToo, Dominion tells the story of how Christianity transformed the modern world.

Book excerpt: How can believers live above the limitations imposed by this world's system? How can we live in Dominion as God originally instructed in Genesis 1:26-28? In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth; but what for? Is the earth inferior to heaven? Why did God create the earth? The bible says that our citizenship is in heaven. If this is true, then we must be on earth as ambassadors of heaven. This fact grants us Diplomatic Immunity from the limitations of earthly laws. We have been given assignments by God on earth; nothing on it should be able to stop us from fulfilling our assignment. We are supposed to live above earthly limitations. Understanding Dominion is a unique book that will answer vital age-long questions and reveal God's sovereign provision for world domination by His saints. We are in the world, but not of the world. In a time of famine do you have to cut back and make do with less like everybody else? While the world may say yes; the Word says No! The Bible tells us that even in times of famine you can still enjoy the provision of God. But this requires that there be interactions between heaven and earth. By design; God has put a lot of what we need on our diplomatic mission out of the reach of the enemy on earth. So we need to access heaven from earth to live a life of immunity and dominion. This book is indeed ground breaking in its emphasis that heaven is a place we can access while still alive on earth. You will see heaven revealed like never before. A diplomat that is cut-off from his home country is no longer fit to represent it. Dominion in life is your portion and you will receive fresh insight on how to walk in the grace that command resources. Read, learn and be blessed.

All of the past ideologies have failed—humanism, communism, totalitarianism, fascism, socialism and even democracy. This is a philosophy, an ideology that will not fail, for it was bore in the heart of God Himself. As Dr. Munroe unveils the reality and the power of the Kingdom of God, you will be challenged to the core of your religious soul as you discover realities that few have seen, let alone talked about. Rediscovering the Kingdom will defy almost every concept you have about religion as it shifts the focus away from religion towards the ultimate issue—the Kingdom of God. In this book you will discover: • The keys that make the Kingdom function in your life. • Why religion cannot solve your problems. • Why governments and world leaders continue to fail us. • Why religion can never fulfill your deepest desire. • Why power is the pursuit of all mankind. • The present and future reality of the Kingdom among us. • The original message and purpose of Jesus.

Book excerpt: "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth." --Genesis 1:24-26 In this crucial passage from the Old Testament, God grants mankind power over animals. But with this privilege comes the grave responsibility to respect life, to treat animals with simple dignity and compassion. Somewhere along the way, something has gone wrong. In Dominion, we witness the annual convention of Safari Club International, an organization whose wealthier members will pay up to $20,000 to hunt an elephant, a lion or another animal, either abroad or in American "safari ranches," where the animals are fenced in pens. We attend the annual International Whaling Commission conference, where the skewed politics of the whaling industry come to light, and the focus is on developing more lethal, but not more merciful, methods of harvesting "living marine resources." And we visit a gargantuan American "factory farm," where animals are treated as mere product and raised in conditions of mass confinement, bred for passivity and bulk, inseminated and fed with machines, kept in tightly confined stalls for the entirety of their lives, and slaughtered in a way that maximizes profits and minimizes decency. Throughout Dominion, Scully counters the hypocritical arguments that attempt to excuse animal abuse: from those who argue that the Bible's message permits mankind to use animals as it pleases, to the hunter's argument that through hunting animal populations are controlled, to the popular and "scientifically proven" notions that animals cannot feel pain, experience no emotions, and are not conscious of their own lives. The result is eye opening, painful and infuriating, insightful and rewarding. Dominion is a plea for human benevolence and mercy, a scathing attack on those who would dismiss animal activists as mere sentimentalists, and a demand for reform from the government down to the individual. Matthew Scully has created a groundbreaking work, a book of lasting power and importance for all of us.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Long ago we invited bears into our stories, our dreams, our nightmares, our lives. We have always sought them out where they live, for their hides, their meat, their beauty, their knowingness. Human country and bear country exist side by side. As Sherry Simpson suggests, the relationship between bears and humans is ancient and ongoing and, in Alaska, profoundly and often uncomfortably close. A huge number of North America’s bears live in Alaska: including at least 31,000 brown bears, 100,000 black bears, and 3,500 polar bears. And nearly every aspect of Alaskan society reflects their presence, from hunting to tourism marketing to wildlife management to urban planning. A long-time Alaskan, Simpson offers a series of compelling essays on Alaskan bears in both wild and urban spaces—because in Alaska, bears are found not only in their natural habitat but also in cities and towns. Combining field research, interviews, and a host of up-to-date scientific sources, her finely polished prose conveys a wealth of information and insight on ursine biology, behavior, feeding, mating, social structure, and much more. Simpson crisscrosses the Alaskan landscape in pursuit of bears as she muses, marvels, and often stands in sheer awe before these charismatic creatures. Firmly grounded in the expertise of wildlife biologists, hunters, and viewing guides, she shows bears as they actually are, not as we imagine them to be. She considers not only the occasionally aggressive behavior bears need to survive, but also the violence exacted upon them by trophy hunters, advocates of predator control, or suburbanites who view bears as land sharks that threaten the safety of their families. Shifting effortlessly between fascinating facts and poetic imagery, Simpson crafts an extended meditation on why we are so drawn to bears and why they continue to engage our imaginations, populate indigenous mythologies, and help define our essential visions of wilderness. As Simpson observes, “The slightest evidence that bears share your world—or that you share theirs—can alter not only your sense of the landscape, but your sense of yourself within that landscape.”

Sproul, Jr., Teaching Fellow at Ligonier Ministries Endorsements: The Gospel is the good news that in Christ Jesus, God is reconciling all things to Himself, that He is ever restoring every broken thing, and that He is dispensing grace and peace as far as the curse is found. The Dominion Mandate is simply the call to graciously manifest this glorious good news in every area of life. In this helpful new book, David Bostrom powerfully echoes that call for a whole new generation of believers. I gratefully recommend it. --George Grant, Pastor, Parish Presbyterian Church I fear that the declaration "Jesus is Lord" has become nothing more than a mere platitude to many modern Christians. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute. (Proverbs 12:24 KJV) This scripture is the foundation for this book. The Word tells us to meditate on God's Word and we can make our way prosperous. I like the way the Message Bible of Joshua 1:8-9 reads; "Don't get off track, either left or right, so as to make sure you get to where you're going. And don't for a minute let this Book of The Revelation be out of mind. Ponder and meditate on it day and night, making sure you practice everything written in it. Then you'll get where you're going; then you'll succeed. Haven't I commanded you? Strength! Courage! Don't be timid; don't get discouraged. GOD, your God, is with you every step you take." When I meditated on Proverbs 12:24, I found seven life changing principles that I learned and continue to incorporate in my life that allow me to reign in areas that I would not in my wildest dreams truly believe that I could! God has given us everything we need to succeed, everything we need to reign in life. Just like a father gives his child his blessing, our Father, God has given us "The Blessing" to reign in life. It is up to us to take that blessing, that empowerment, that anointing and utilize it in every arena of our lives. We are going to learn how to take the Word of God and incorporate it in our lives and reap the benefits of meditating and doing the Word, because the bible also tells us that we need to hear as well as do the Word to receive the promises of the Word. Don't fool yourself into thinking that you are a listener when you are anything but, letting the Word go in one ear and out the other. Act on what you hear! Those who hear and don't act are like those who glance in the mirror, walk away and two minutes later have no idea who they are, what they look like. (James 1:22-24 MSG) This is not going to be us! Once we hear the Word on how to reign in life, we will act upon it with force, eagerness, persistence and diligence and see God manifest Himself in our lives like never before! So we will begin by breaking down our foundation scripture which is Proverbs 12:24a the hand of the diligent shall bear rule. We will dissect it into small enough pieces that we can digest it and nourish our spirits and our souls and began to see our lives change, because we utilized the principles that we will be discussing in this book. Now let's look at some definitions: The word Hand in the Hebrew means power, direction, work, ministry, service and state. Diligent in Hebrew means active, incisive, determination and eager. Bear Rule in Hebrew means to rule, reign, have power, governor and that everything is subject to you. Now let's incorporate our definitions of these words into our scripture and it would read: The power, direction, work, ministry, service, state of the active, incisive, determined and eager shall rule, reign, have power, be governor and everything is subject to them! Now, I took it a step further and looked up the Hebrew definition of these words in the American Heritage Dictionary and I came up with an even more detailed description of this particular scripture. I will call this Shelita's amplified version of Proverbs 12:24a: The power, the direction, the work, the ministry, the service and the state of the active and those who have the ability or quality to cut or separate the superficial part of anything, able to make a decision of a question in the mind, have firm resolution; settled purpose, absolute direction to a certain end and are excited by ardent desire in the pursuit of any object will rule, reign, have control, have power, be director, administrator, chief, head and have everything subject to them! Amen! Now that's what I'm talking about! This is what I want for my life and I know you do as well because you are reading this book, so let's get started.

Some references to it have been positive, some negative. It appears to be important, and they'd like to know more about it. But they want a full, understandable explanation, not a simplistic one. Book excerpt: In this edition of this classic study of postmillennialism, you will sense anew the powerful message of Psalm 72 that Christ "shall have dominion from sea to sea" (Psa 72:8). You will learn that God's word boldly promises that "the whole earth will be filled with his glory" (72:19) so that "all nations will call him blessed" (72:17) - before Christ returns. Many evangelicals today are concerned about those being Left Behind on this Late Great Planet Earth as it collapses into absolute chaos. But the postmillennialist optimistically believes regarding Christ that He Shall Have Dominion throughout the earth. In this book you will find the whole biblical rationale for the postmillennial hope, from its incipient beginning in Genesis to its glorious conclusion in Revelation. Your faith will be re-invigorated as you begin to recognize that "the gospel is the power of God unto salvation" (Rom 1:16) and that our Lord Jesus really meant it when he commanded us to "go and make disciples of all the nations" (Matt 28:19).

Book excerpt: Christian woman, take dominion "Play your position " is a call we may hear a coach yell at a soccer or football game. The meaning is do what you have been assigned to do, and do it well Many Christian women have been told over the years that they must quietly stay under their parasols while their men go out and conquer the world. Is this what the Bible really teaches? Author and pastor Mark Chanski insists that the Bible tells us a different story. He insists that the Bible teaches a woman to take dominion of her God-assigned role as wife, mother and church helper. This is not in a feminist way but in a God-glorifying way that speaks volumes of who she is and why God created her. Women should not think of themselves as victims, says the author, but as victors who conquer the realm that their Lord and Master, Jesus Christ, has given them.
