La publication des différentes contributions dans ce volume prolonge, en quelque sorte, le travail accompli jusqu’à maintenant dans ce domaine et contribuera certainement à approfondir le débat engagé sur l’avenir de cette langue. L’arabe marocain a fait l’objet de plusieurs études et les riches bibliographies du présent volume en donnent un large aperçu. Mais malgré la pléthore d’écrits et d’études, cette variété de l’arabe a encore besoin de plus d’études scientifiques pour accompagner son irruption massive et, il faut bien le dire, bruyante dans le paysage linguistique marocain. L’arabe marocain vit en effet une transition dans son statut et passe de langue confinée dans l’oralité à une langue écrite qui s’affiche allégrement dans le paysage urbain, sur les affiches et annonces publicitaires et dans les réseaux sociaux. Une dynamique qui mérite une approche sereine et scientifique et à laquelle les différentes contributions présentées ici apportent de précieux éclairages. Bien que la question de la lexicographie soit le coeur de cette publication, les aspects, linguistique, sociolinguistique et didactique n’ont pas manqué d’être soulevées.
