Afin d'apporter une information claire et facile d'accès pour le grand public concernant les végétaux ornementaux, le site plantes-risque.info a été mis en place sous l'égide de l'ANSES. Après les plantes toxiques de métropole, celles des territoires d'outre-mer doivent être recensées afin d'y être ajoutées. Cette thèse présente un inventaire original des végétaux retrouvés dans 23 points de vente de Guyane française. L'inventaire effectué recense 493 espèces, 100 familles botaniques y sont représentées et plus de 35 000 spécimens ont été comptabilisés. Une analyse globale de leur toxicité a été réalisée en fonction de travaux précédents du centre hospitalier de Cayenne. Au terme de ce travail, 12 fiches toxicologiques ont été rédigées afin de présenter les espèces cultivées et commercialisées en Guyane (et n'ayant pas déjà été réalisées dans les autres DOM) pouvant représenter un danger pour la santé humaine.
